excellent place to stay in Natal

Review of D Beach Resort
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 2, 2019
GOODS: I arrived from the hotel yesterday night so everything is fresh in mind, so it should be smooth.
The hotel is great. It´s has two ways to access - the main entry for the reception and the one on the shore that access the beach. It has 3 pools and the view is excellent. You can walk along the shore and visit many stores and restaurants - you´ll find touring operators offering rides to different points. If you do not get a car, Uber is available also with another App option (99Pop).
Breakfast was GREAT with options for eggs (scrambled, fried, omelet) and also tapioca. Coffee, milk and tea is available and juices and yogurts. Really good breakfast that you sets your way for the day.
The hotel is kind of located on a hill, so there are plenty of room units, but you will need to go along ramps or get some shortcut through stairs and it´s all outdoors. If you have mobility issues or kids, the lower levels are savers, but keep in mind that they are also more expensive but the view from the upper rooms is gorgeous since there´s nothing to obstruct your view.
The staff is great, they manage to please me, and the room had a large umbrella in case of rain!
BADS: I had some issues with the first roo, with AC malfuncting but they manage to get me room on level 5. Just to note something that annoyed me during the night. The bed was supposed to be King or Queen size, but in fact it was two single beds together (two mattresses) that you could feel the junction of them while sleeping.

I'm Brazilian and my wife is Swedish and we spent our honeymoon at D Beach Resort, and we really enjoyed. Actually it was our second time there. We just had small issues about the Internet speed and some gym equipments which were immediately sorted out by Paolo the General Manager. The staff were super friendly in special Daniel and Tarcísil (the receptionist that speaks a great English and could communicate also with my wife). The food was all the best. Thanks D Beach team.

The biggest issue that I have with D Beach Resort is that while we were out on an excursion, our money was taken from our room. The money was hidden in my wife under garment bag. There was no sign of a forced entry. The management of the hotel is horrible; they would not assume any responsibility. We had placed the "Do Not Disturb" on our door, but it was entered anyway. We reported the theft to the police who contacted us in front of the hotel; the hotel manager is horrible and lied about security - no working cameras - The manager contacted the Italian Hotel Owner and their lawyer and then stated that we would have to go through the judicial process. If you are an American or English speaking tourist, stay away from this hotel. Trust me - this is not the place you want to spend your vacation!

Room tip: If you still want to stay here - Make sure that you are close to the front office.

I had a just price to stay in this hotel, so I couldn't want a luxury hotel!
You will find bungalows, and some are further of the reception.
The restaurant is also far to of the rooms, in rain days this is a problem.
The breakfast is very good and there are two good pools!

Good located Hotel, with a good view to the "Morro do Careca". There are several restaurants around the corner. Besides, there is a bad thing: you can be located in rooms that are far from the reception and the main exit, and it makes you get tired, because you will walk quite a lot, going through downstairs or upstairs.

Ask to the reception where you will be located in. Man kann fragen, wo du bleiben wirst.

We were put in here as our original booking was not done right and this was the closest place to it.
Not perfect for senior people (I was with parents) as there is quite some difference in height on the grounds.
From the cosy little rooms to the restaurant or even the beach was a fair walk that Mom did not like doing more than twice a day.
However the place looks good and the little bungalows are pretty.
Food was nice too, buffet style.
It felt like an all inclusive place even wearing a plastic bracelet thing around your wrist which is just not what I was looking for in Natal.
