The location is great, with lots of good restaurants around and the hotel is close to Avenida Paulista.
Unfortunately the management of the Hotel does not work, leaving guests waiting at check in or check out even hours to be attend .... terrible ..... It is very far from being an international hotel with a few stars ....

The Transamerica Prime Hotel is very good , I stayed here this week for 6 Nights.
On the Rooftop , 29th Floor is the viewbar with a excellent view over the City of Sao- Paulo and with Livemusic every night. Also the area here is nice with a lot of good Restaurants. Only little minus , the braefast could have some more variety . But I will come back here again in the future /

I stayed at Transamerica Prime in one of my business trip in Sao Paulo. It was near the event I was participating. And I liked. Nice room, nice hotel, and close to avenida Paulista. The size of the room really surprised me.

Room tip: If you have time, go to the swimming pool and enjoy the gym.

I have been guest in this hotel for the past 3 years. I usually stay here a couple of times a year as I go there for business. I have been in this hotel so many times that I already know most of the staff that work there. The rooms are good with all the necessary things including a small kitchenette. Most of the times I have been here, the AC blowers are not strong or cold enough specially for the summer season. The free wifi offered can only be used for basic web browsing and email as it is not that good. They have a nice breakfast and it is very well located close to Paulista Ave. There are several restaurants, bars, supermarket and stores nearby including a Starbucks and Domino's pizza across the street. Usually, this hotel is worth their price. However, this year they had ridiculous prices even well after the world cup was over. Even being a frequent guest, they were charging me close to a 5 star hotel price. I was planning to stay 15 days and the reservation's manager still wouldn't lower the price. I found out a few days after that their price dropped about 25%. I ended up going to a 5 star hotel where my money was well worth the price. I am disappointed as they don't value frequent business guests.

My recent stay at the Transamerica Prime International Plaza in Sao Paulo was good overall. Stay was from June 30-July 4, 2014.

The good:
Great location one block away from Avenida Paulista, less expensive compared to many other hotels in this area, a decent clean room at a fair price, great breakfast spread. One positive was the manually controlled fan/AC unit in room that you can leave on High setting to provide continual background noise.
The City View rooftop restaurant and bar was a welcome surprise. Many hotel restaurants are only average and this one was definitely better than average. The caipirinhas are excellent (get the Caipirinha Especial, made with a higher grade Cachaca), the views are stunning, and the food is very good, with nice presentations. One gotcha is the R$22 per person cover charge for live music in the evening time.

The not so good:
Lots of small annoyances which by themselves would not be a deal breaker but together they are noticeable when combined: No Kleenex in bathroom or anywhere in room, no iron or ironing board, no plug adapters, WiFi Internet disconnects regularly, etc.

Overall for the price was it was reasonable, if you want to be close to Avenida Paulista which was important to me for my work, especially compared to many other hotels in the vicinity that are many times the price.

If money isn't a concern, I would highly recommend the Marriott Renaissance, about a mile further down the same street, Alameda Santos.

Room Tip: Select the highest possible floor to be farthest away from traffic noise

Room tip: Choose a high floor to reduce city/traffic noise

Dear Mr. Michael,
We appreciate your comments, which are very important to us and contribute to our improvement process.
We will forward your observations to those responsible for the restaurant and bar to discuss the artistic charge information, very common in most restaurants and bars in Brazil.
Concerning the laundry service, we offer the express option and an ironing environment at the 3rd floor. On your next stay, our staff will be happy to take you there to meet your needs.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us and other travelers; that makes it easier to examine possible improvements.
We would like to have met your expectations, but we are happy to know that we offered you a pleasant stay. Be welcome always!
