A stunning location with the Zlatni Rat (golden horn) beach a mere stroll away and visible from hotel sea front path :-)! Lesley our Tui rep, wonderful, we love her! :-) xx
Fabulous for families and couples as very friendly place, on the french riviera equivalent on the Island of Brac, Croatia. We did Tui half Board deal for a week, so we could go out and sample the culinary delights at least once a day! After booking really late on in the season as a last minute, did manage to secure some discount with Tui but thought half noard included all drinks at dinner too. We were wrong, even bottled water was charged every evening, so if you are on a tight budget i would opt for an all inclusive at the neighbouring hotels, Elaphusa or the Bonaca (which has excellent provision for family, kids entertainment and free bike hire also included. Brilliant to whizz along the front to get a cool breeze when the temperature rockets, we stayed at the Bonaca last year :-) Anyway, the Borak- most of the staff are lovely, work very hard and long hours. Be mindful, the boss in the dining room he is not to be messed with and stick to your allocated sitting, designated on arrival, or you will be consigned to the naughty table on the outskirts of the dining room! Not pleasant or welcoming for paying guests. Having done masters level leadrship training and implementation in a large corporate institution, was horrified at how he addressed his staff to take out his own frustrations as opposed to anything they had done wrong publically, felt for them (how not to motivate your most precious asset!) your loyal, diligent, hard working dining Dean/Antica and team and Petra/Marko bar staff, who still manage a happy smile and deploy exceptional manners at all times.
No plug in bathroom sink, so if needed, open a jar of snacks from mini bar and guess what the small side of cork lid fits the sink and large side fits the shower tray! :-) lovely time xxx
FYI 500 kunar is approx £62 (end Aug) 2018) cash points all around on sea front path plus shop shacks for all those snackettes you and your twinklies desire :-). Talking of

We returned to Bol and Hotel Bluesun Borak after a great holiday last year and it did not disappoint. We was slightly covered when when heard the animation had changed to Samarcanda as the children loved the previous team but they were certainly a step up with their interaction with the children and wonderful shows. Matiju, Iva and Dea were professional, fun and full of energy. The only thing is we preferred the kids club being outside rather than in the hotel.

The hotel is in a great location with an amazing amount of water sports, sailing, boat hire and inflatable obstacle course on your doorstep. Zlatni Rat beach is only a short walk one way and the town a short walk the other, with a lovely market to pass through. The town is pretty and clean and has everything you need from shops, bars, fruit and veg market and lovely restaurants.

Everyone was helpful and friendly at the hotel. My only criticism was the pool looked as though it was in need of a clean and the tiles needed replacing in some sections.

The food was of a high standard again, with each evening a different main to try and a good selection for the children. The themed evenings were good too and gave a sense of the local culture.

Wonderful hotel, great location, lovely people. What more could you ask for.

Breakfast was really nice , also the staff behind the reception were fantastic , the pool area is nice and the location is excellent.

Bad points:

air conditioning didn’t work in the first room, but was promised a new room after 2nd night which they did deliver on.

Air conditioning in the second room worked but made horrendous noises during the night, my girlfriend struggled to sleep.

The hotel is very nice but slightly dated which is expected for its star rating, the staff are all doing an excellent job with what they have.

Overall a pleasant stay thank you.

The location couldn't be better, with calm surroundings and some 50 meters to the sea.
The service is surprisingly good - the best I've seen in a hotel like this: All the personell in the restaurant, the pool bar, the pool side, and the Samarcanda entertainment/animation team were cheerful, polite, low key. They made the stay seem like you were in a small family establishment.
It is difficult to highlight any single person, as there were so many who many who did an excellent job, but I still must mention two persons in particular:

Matija of the animation team seemed to have an endless supply of energy to share with the guests. He connected with almost every single person and shared an abundance of happiness. But I must stress that the other persons of the animation team did an excellent job too.

Mery who lead the pool side restaurant, also connected with every single guest and made everyone a little bit more happy. She truly made an amazing job, keeping all guests happy.
