Our experience in Daniela was one of the best we had in Istria. The restaurant is situated in a quiet village just off the main road leading to Porec. We were seated in the garden overseeing the traditional Istrian village. If you come with children, they will have great fun while waiting for food to be served.
We ordered Istrian pasta with truffles and a mixed plate of meats and were not disappointed. Also, make sure you try fried or grilled Adriatic squid, they have one of the best around. At the end of the main course, we were also given the traditional pastry with apples and spirit "rakija" on the house! This has become a rather rare occurrence on the Croatian coast.
The only minor drawback is the selection of craft beers they offer. I hope they add a few more to the menu upon my next visit.
Visit Konoba Daniela if you are after good quality food, authentic Istrian experience and reasonable prices. Avoid the vast majority of overpriced and sub-par restaurants in the direct proximity of the seaside.
All the best to the owner Daniela and her team!
