Everything works adequately .
The staff are polite but not friendly
Checkin worked but was not welcoming. It was made clear that using booking.com was not normal and involved extra financial checks
Breakfast is basic there however the staff clear up around you encouraging you to leave ASAP before breakfast closing time
The 2 lifts cannot meet the demand at peak times but the stairs are adequate for the 7 stories.
The hotel was full of retired German tourists when we were there who seemed to enjoy their stay.
The pools were clean and possibly the most elegant part of the hotel

All in all a clean functional place to stay probably worth the price and certainly fine for a couple of nights stay in the picturesque town of Rabac.

Hedera belongs to a group of 3 hôtels sharing the same facilities (swimming pool mainly and then the classical animations such as minigolf, volley, tennis table, etc ...). Hedera is the only three stars (the other have four stars which mean they get a wifi when Hedera keeps mute). It is a classical mass tourism resort, rooms are functional and only dedicated to sleep and shower. It doest not mean that there is any quality defect (reasonably recently refurbished) but don't look for any amenity. Breakfast and dinner are diversified as long as you don't stay more than one week, which is a good point, many resorts do not offer such choice. Accordingly, the half board scheme is the one to prefer. The full board does not bring you any significant bonus unless you absolutely need to eat three times a day. The interest of the hotel is its location, close to the Rabac Harbour and market, close to the old city of Rabin and located in a pretty creek where you can access beautiful water with rocks (and million of tourists lying on) so Wake up early to enjoy. Otherwise the beaches are with stone. They are either private (to pay for) or serving a huge camping area which does not bring you to the best neighborhood you can expect. The resort is therefore a good place to register for private excursions either inland or seaside wich will allow you to enjoy the beautiful Istrian region while escaping the tourists crowds (at least outside July and August). My advise is to book for the half board with the best internet price and then organise the rest of the expenses locally on your dedicated excursions depending on whether you are a family, a couple or whatever else.

Room tip: Beware of the limited two lifts for 500 people. Choose first floor rooms (they are all identical and the view is not better higher).

Hotel HEDERA was renovated this year, so everything (almost) is new and fresh painted. The hotel location is very good, with 3 pools infront of the hotel, with parking places all around the hotel (for free, but hard to find one),rooms very comfortable. The staff was friendly and the food (breakfast, dinner) very good. They also organised so called "Istria evening" with some food (meet, wine, etc.) specialities from Istria / Croatia.

Room tip: Rooms on the top have a nice sea view. Almost all the rooms (except these in the 6 and 7 floor) have the sea view.

Me and my family spent three nights in this place, i have mixed emotions for this hotel... First good ones: Hotel is renovated and for price it is great place, everything looks new, rooms are comfortable and large, great sea view from balcony, great outdoor pool...

And now not so good sides: No wi-fi in room, no fridge, poor tv chanell selection, only 2 elevators for 7 floor hotel, always crowded and most of times you must use stairs, indoor pool closed during summer...
on check in front desk lady (was not kind) was confused with expedia printed reservation, she asked for voucher, when i explained that expedia is words biggest booking company and that i never had problems with email reservation print she spoke to some guy and after 20 minutes suspiciously given me room key (yes real key, they renovated hotel but no key cards)... second day part of ceiling (plasterboard panel) fell on floor in hundreds of parts and water was leaking from ceiling hole... three different service man came to room in next two days and they did nothing, not even try to fix, ( we have much work here, we need you out of room to work...) so most of our stay we had hole in ceiling and towel on floor to keep falling water (not so fancy vacation for 100$ night),
on check out i asked clerks about that situation and they said "send us email" !!?? why? email will not fix our vacation! most hotels i have been would offer us new room even for a lot less malfunction, but Hedera did NOT !

Well seperated from Rabac, but still within walking distance (10mins)
Offers many attractions, 5 swimming pools, own beach..
Food was various and okay and much affordable than outside of the hotel.
Great cities are within a <1 hour drive (pula, opatija, rovinj)
Only big disadvantage - internet does not work:(
