As others have said, it’s not Monterey Bay aquarium. But if you slow down you’ll see some magical things. I was lucky to watch as a seahorse—three inches or so of her—decided to leave the branch her tail was wrapped around and motor to the next thing on her agenda. It was like watching a cartoon for a moment—she blew water with bubbles out her ears and glided to the next branch. That alone made the aquarium worth the visit.

20 Tanks in two dingy rooms - three quarters of the tanks were not bigger than fish tanks in peoples homes. Ridiculous

The Aquarium is really small, it took 5 minutes to see everything there. The tanks are dirty, most of the fish are sick or dying already. Not worth a kuna either.

It was a big disappointment for me. For 4€ ticket we can see sick, dying fish. Dirty, neglected fish tanks only two small rooms. I do not recommend this to anyone.

The Aquarium is housed in a splendid villa on the seaside, and has an interesting link to the Berlin aquarium. Unfortunately, it has been neglected since the founders left, with the exhibition being limited to about 10 basins in varying stages of neglect - often full of moss.
The fish share the state of depression, who can blame them.

Fortunately, the staff have a good time, tanning in the garden, and slowly moving to the cashiers desk when the odd visitor arrives. Unfortunately they forgot to bring change, so when you pay your ticket you are offered a handful of coins for change.

I visited this Aquarium many times in the '80 and '90, it was such a charming place bringing you back to a time when museums and scientific institution were even a place of arts.

This aquarium is small but great to get to know the names of some of the local marine wildlife you may see swimming in the sea.
It is by no means an aquarium in the sense of a sea life centre in the UK. There are two rooms of tanks filled with local fish, coral, crustaceans, and molluscs. Particularly interesting to watch were the eels and crabs.
There were some mistranslations of signs into English and not all signs appeared to correspond to the tank they were labelling but it wasn't too difficult to work out what they are.
We walked around and took time to watch some of the animals, we were probably there for an hour or just over which for 30 kuna (around £3) is good value for money.

The exterior belies what is actually less than significant inside as this is a small collection of fish, shellfish and molluscs etc housed in 2 ground floor rooms. The cost is small at about £3.00 per person. You would not feel pleased to pay more. They could certainly improve the collection but our 12 year old daughter was relatively pleased to visit.
