This restaurant serves incredible pizzas and is set back in an authentic Croatian Street. The restaurant only has a few seats outside but would recommend holding out for a table if you have to wait. Great service and would recommend the four cheese pizza it was the best pizza I've ever had.

I visited Rovinj in August for the first time. I must say that I'm impressed, especially with Pizzeria Italiana. The servise is very good and the staff is very warm and welcoming! I ate the 'Al Quadrato' and it was very delicious! See you again next year! :)

The restaurant is located in a charming street of the Old Town.
Service was very friendly (despite the language barrier), much-much better than the Rovinj/Croatian standard.
The pizze were awesome: Diavola is a must try! We had a really good experience on quality of food and service.

A very simple no frills pizzeria with good service and good pizzas and salads. No inside tables but who wants to sit inside in the charming town of Rovinj.

We have visited it twice - in August, 2015 and August 2016. On our first visit the number of pizzas and beers were significally more. The pizza was ok, but the dough was raw. So, we had to take it to apartment to cook. On second visit we have ordered pizzas: Buffala ( with mozarella bufala), Diavola and Ciclista (a la focacca). All three pizzas were prepared with a very raw dough, there was a lot of water in dough and seasoning. Moreover, Buffala was the most expensive pizza in menu (70 kunas per normal) and there were tomato, mozarella and basilicum listed in menu for this pizza. And my Buffala was served without any sign of basil. I have asked to cook my pizzas more and about basil. And the waiter (woman) has brought me 5-7 small basil leafes on a small plate. Another waiter (man from Sicily) has then returned with my "cooked pizzas" soon. They were a little more better than they were before. I couldn't eat a raw dought, so, I eat all the mozarrella and went to ask the cook about his pizzas. The waiter (woman) has told me that they had to cook in ordinary bake owen, not in wood owen for pizzas and that they all (she, another waiter and the cook) are from Italy and they know better how pizza should be and tastes. And I have told her that we were in Napoli and we also know what is a good pizza and even in Rovinj you can find a place where pizza is better. She said all croatian pizza is awful and that my words are not true. Then the waiter (silicilian guy) just had finished to listen and talk and went away. We had paid and went also. This was our last visit and we will no return. The only good thing at this pizzeria is the waiter (from Sicily), he usually is very polite and has great italian voice. The negative part is that all their pizza is raw, the dough is unprepared as it should be and has no taste at all. Their pizza has a very little stuff on it but it's ok for italian pizzas. The worst part is that the mozarella was not DOP, just some ordinary mozarella and one piece was even cold. Beer (0,5 l, Favorit) costs 25 kunas (regular price at other places 15-20 kunas). No italian beers - the waiter (from Sicily) said it's difficult to import it.
The "normal" size of pizza is a little bit smaller compared to other places. For example, at Dario (other pizzeria in Rovinj) you can order a normal Slavonska pizza for 50 kunas and the dough will be tasty and pizza will be bigger and well cooked. And I know what I'm saying, I'm a pizzaman.
Back to Pizzeria Italiana - this place offers a good service (for italian speakers only) and just an ordinary food. Their pizzas are nothing special and don't cost their price. You can't bake a good italian pizza in non-wooden owen and basta! But that people, at Pizzeria Italiana, they pretend to serve a real quality italian pizza which is of course not true, because they don't have a proper owen and their cook don't have a knowledge and experience of cooking a pizza in ordinary owen. I can't recommend this place for a real pizza lover, like me.
