Ray and the staff at Sueno del mar make sure that your every need is taken care of. This is NOT your 5 star hotel. This is a quaint, clean easy-going small hotel that offers a 5 star scuba and stay with the locals. I loved waking up every morning with a complimentary breakfast with a slow and easy feel. The other divers would join us at breakfast and we all soon became fast friends. I visited for 10 days in April 2016 and will return again in late August this year for another 9 day visit. The hotel operates separately from Roatan divers (located downstairs), but it is a great team. You can stay here and you are away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but can take a 5 minute walk and you are up front and center of the Wend End activities.

Room Tip: Stay away from Titas, if possible. Can get a bit noisy

WOW, perfect place for a large group to sleep, gather, eat and drink! Just a few steps from your room to the beach, a perfect place next door with amazing food and drinks! the most welcomed personal ever. The owner (Ray) super awesome, and all his people are just there to make sure your stay and vacation will be the one to remember forever.
It was a perfect place for our family (with out 4 year old)

I have been coming to Roatan since 2003 and Met Ray the owner shortly after that. I brought groups of divers here from my dive shop for 7 years until i sold it because of the whole package. The hotel is small and clean, well looked after, the dive shop is well stocked and they have everything you may need on a trip like this inc instructors, etc. couple of different dive boats well suited to their purpose. you wont find a friendlier, better run spot on the island. the staff here over the years have become like family and i look forward to getting back there as soon as possible. This property has a great location on the beach and is to the south of West End in an area that is quieter. That said, the locals that hang out at Lola's Bar, which is right outside of every guestroom, keep guests up very late. This property services two giant catamaran's docked in front of the property. These boats take 4 or 5 bus loads of cruise ship guest on day trips. The start servicing the boats around 6:30AM when ships are in town and load supplies by walking and talking directly in front of guest patios.

Simple and clean. Our room had A/C but the sliding patio door doesn't lock. Breakfast are ok but we ate in West End half the time.

Room Tip: Get an upstairs room with a/c! Bring ear plugs for sleeping!

Sueno is a great little hotel right on the beach. It is associated with Roatan Dive Centre right on location.

The rooms are nice with balconies with ocean view. I was there 5 years ago and now again and I'd say back then it was great value and now it's OK value. Nothing has been updated.
A small TV in the room or some common place to watch movies or TV could be nice to entertain children and relax at the end of the day. Not that you're on holiday to watch TV but it would be nice to know that there is none provided so we have the option of bringing a tablet or laptop if we choose to be entertained by a movie.

Our "triple" room was just a normal room that would sleep 3 because of the queen bed and single bed so we were a bit disappointed but Ray, the owner gave us a larger space combination because the hotel was not full. Then, it became good value. (well good value if our Canadian dollar wasn't so low at the time of the trip)

Although the dive shop is run separately by Mary and Gary, I would have liked a discount for staying there and diving (plus 2 were doing the PADI training).

The other improvement I really wished for was for some of the staff to be a little happier.

Miguel, who drove us back and forth from the airport is very pleasant and the associated staff from the dive centre, Mary and Boat Captain Dennis are all smiles and in good mood but others could cheer up a little...realize they own and work in the "hospitability" business which requires a little less grumpiness...

A warmer welcome would have been appreciated. Some directions of where the breakfast is served, that beach towels are available, where the kayak paddles are, (by the way, the hotel could repair of invest in new kayaks if they'll continue to advertise that they provide kayaks), a warning about the fleas and what's best to use against it....
Not a whole long tourist spiel to hold your hands but some directions just like when you'd welcome a visitor to your house and tell them where the bathroom is.

For those sensitive to beach fleas, buy some cactus juice and/or insect repellent because the nasty little buggers will attach your legs and jump on your thighs. Prevention will make your trip much more pleasant (some people react to the bites with sore and itchy unpleasant red bumps that take weeks to disappear)

The great thing about the hotel is actually Tita's bar right beside it on the beach. NIki and Tita are the best hostesses and make the best drinks!!!

The other good thing is the proximity to the ocean, the volley ball net right on the beach, the dogs daisy and Duke, and the dive centre within the hotel. Also Ronnys Barefoot bar 2 min walk is excellent (see other review)

Breakfast was included and offered a good choice of fruit, pancakes and eggs any style. .

Overall a good value, ocean view, proximity to the best bar and proximity to the restaurant of West End. Good for divers.
