I was in charge of a group of 16. The owner made the arrangements easy and is a great communicator. The place was very clean and nice. The decorations are cute. I loved the dock and it's location is still convenient although removed therefore making it quieter. We enjoyed our stay there very much. The back porch with table and chairs and a hammock were a nice surprise.

We stayed just one night on our way to Utila. It was in a great location, close enough to West End to access restaurants but far enough away to be quiet. We enjoyed relaxing on the hammocks by our rooms and the bonus of the breeze on the dock hammocks. The rooms were very clean, the front desk was helpful. We walked into town to catch a water taxi to go to West Bay to snorkel. We would definitely go back!

I stayed here for about a week while on Roatan and enjoyed myself thoroughly. The rooms were bright and spotless, the grounds were pretty and it was great to hang in the hammock or relax on the dock. I liked that the location was a bit off the main road, very quiet but still within easy walking distance to the rest of the action. I agree with some of the other reviewers here that the staff left a little something to be desired -- they weren't impolite, just bored and not very helpful. But overall a great experience and excellent value for money.

We stayed here for the first week of a 3 week vacation. The most inexpensive and basic of the 3 places we stayed but very nice.

We had a main floor room which was great! The back patio was surround by lush gardens so when we sat out, it felt like we were in the jungle.

The room was spacious and clean and had a kitchenette which consisted of a gas stove top with 2 burners. It worked great for us and we ate dinner at the room most nights as we had a 7 month old baby with us which limited our night life.

There is some construction going on next to the hotel however, it didn't bother us at all. Perhaps they were onto a quiet part of work but we didn't really hear anything.

The palapa was a nice and relaxing place to chill in the mornings to watch the sun come up.

The only downfall I guess would be that there is no restaurant so it's about a 10 minute walk to town (or 3 minute walk to Casa Calico around the corner). We all had a great time and would stay again.

We have fallen in love with this posada, perfect location just few steps away from tha downtown's noises, private dock, big, bright and well furnished rooms with kitchen and balcony...everything has been perfect with the exception of the staff: two unfriendly and unpolite girls that even found it hard to say hello or raise their eyes from them book they were reading!
We spent one night at the Posada Arco Iris, the other hotel of the same owners, and the staff was more friendly and kind; despite that we liked better las Orquideas.
Go there and try to take no account of the staff!

I don't think you could beat this place for the location and the price. We were on the top floor far right room, number 19. We had a fantastic view from our room and since we were on the corner had excellent breezes blowing through our room in the evening. The room at the far end would probably have a better view but you would have to deal with the noise from the dive shop in the morning. There was construction next door but since everything is done manually, we had no noise. My husband counted 600 steps from the hotel to town. A very easy and enjoyable walk even in the evening since it is well lit. The location is nice as well because you don't have the town bar noise. Do bring cards or a couple of good books because we are not into the bar scene and there is no TV or DVD here. The front desk gal is not very friendly but who cares, everyone else we meet were friendly and helpful.

i stayed at las orquideas for a week and enjoyed everyday....i usually stay at the sister hotel but they were booked....glad i got a chance to check it out....the room is spacious and the deck in back is great...the breeze was killer....i found myself out there every night , in the hammock....i sometimes got a light sound of splashing water from waves over the reef...and they have a back up generator which was great when one day the power was out - i couldn't get a cold beer anywhere until i got to my refrig at the hotel....can't get a better deal on the island - either the arco iris or the las orquideas both great....they clean your room everyday - free kayak rental and internet ...i've been to roatan over 12 times and always regret the times i stayed other places....

  • Liked — the deck off the back of the room
