“Solitude @ Mother nature's lap”
Reviewed 23 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Solitude Munnar have a picturesque view which will definitely chill out all our stress. We were a gang of 5 girls stayed there for 2 nights and we felt safe and sound in this heavenly place. The tasteful interior made the place classy. Manu was too patient in clarifying all our queries. Food served was good at nominal prices. Kailash took special care of guest. The place is a perfect getaway for those who seek peace and love nature.

“Heaven on Earth”
Reviewed 1 February 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Extremely good place to stay..surrounded by mountains, greenary and most important good host..owner Manu and Rengini doesnt stay in munnar but in Bangalore but still they make sure they attend the calls and the caretaker Kalesh is a very humble and down to earth man..words from him are mostly NO PROBLEM,I WILL ARRANGE..are very pleasing to the ears..In short a very good place to have a vacation..

certain things to be improved which are Wifi connectivity, tv is there but connection should be provided ..its required if kids are there. and a slight improvement in food..

still I will would rate 5 out 5 as it was my best days spent with nature..

cheers
Raghu

Thank you for the great review.
We are happy that you had a nice vacation. Thank you for the kind words, describing the experience.
The TV connection issues are now rectified and will be available for the guests. About wifi, we are still trying to work out the possibility and would make the best effort to get it done at the earliest. The real bottleneck with wifi, is the network unavailability in the area with only one vendor providing the service. The application for connection is still pending with the provider.
We look forward to welcoming you to Solitude for your next vacation to Munnar.

“Tucked away in Nature”
Reviewed 3 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Really good place to get away from the noice and pollution of city. Enjoyed a calm and peaceful New Year's morning at Solitude.

Only suggestion will be have more sign boards on the way. I over shot the place by about 2kms because I missed the last sign board.

Thank you for the great review. Good to hear that you enjoyed the stay and the new year at Solitude. Thank you for bringing to notice regarding the sign boards. We understand that the last signboard is some times hard to notice. We re moving the issue to the highest priority in the list of the next round of improvements and would be taken up on priority.

“A serene place to unwind”
Reviewed 27 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

While looking for a spot near Munnar to spend a December weekend, we had one thing in mind. It shouldn't be the usual crowded resort with several staff to serve all your needs. We found the best place when got to know about Solitude. Its a cozy place with a fantastic view of the nature. The wooden interior texture gives it a real "tree house" effect. The comfortable bedroom and the nice big balcony were really impressive. It is really an awesome place for an overnight stay for a small group (up to 4). Mr Kalesh is an excellent support who cooks very tasty homely food. We will definitely be going back again!!!

Thanks,
Deepak

“Hills, waterfall, greenery, mist, birds and butterflies ..”

This place is really worth recommending for scenic beauty. Set in a remote village will give you one unforgettable vacation.

They have one beautiful bedroom, big verandah, a dining room with wood work. And an additional bed room and kitchen in the ground floor. Verandah was our chilllout lounge. My friend Krishna even slept there just to wake up to the beauty of mountains in the morning.

Mr. Kalesh and family maintains the property. They are wonderful hosts, they provide very nice South Indian food.

We found that approach road to property is not good for small cars. There are two routes to reach here from Munnar. Route through Letchmi estate is scenic and work trying - but not recommended in the night. Kallar route is good.

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property? Overall condition of the property

Liked best: Scenic beauty and hospitality
Liked least: The water geyser is too small.

Thank you for the review. We are happy to hear that you had a nice time in Solitude.
Regarding the approach road, there is a plan from the local authority to concrete the road. In the other case we would be be doing a minor maintainance of the stretch post the monsoon.
Looking forward to seeing you back in Solitude for your next visit to Munnar.

“Well maintained (interesting place) but not easily approachable ”
Reviewed 5 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The name speaks for the place..it is literally solitude..we found it extremely difficult to approach the place as it took us more than hour to drive from munnar town...the approach roads are not good and the place completely secludes you from any kind of facilities..even the mobile phones do not catch network which could be a bit risky in case of emergency..the property is very well maintained, has a cozy bedroom and dining room (only on the first floor) and is surrounded with breathtaking view of the hills and spice plantation..The caretakers...Mr. Kalesan and his wife are extremely helpful and do a great job with hospitality...they prepared sumptuous meals and breakfast for us and made sure we were comfortable..out of the two floors (ground and first) only the first floor is worth the stay which also has unique balcony with a spectacular view of the hills...this place is not recommended for families travelling with small kids or for those who wish to explore and drive around munnar for sightseeing as it's not easily approachable. But I would advise this place to those who are really looking to relax and unwind and do not mind spending all their time in "solitude" and desire a peaceful getaway from the city.

Thank you for the feedback.
We perfectly take the inputs that you have suggested.

Regarding the room downstairs we understand that the room is not at par with the top one. We have already planned a maintenance in the last week of September. We are planing to put in a false ceiling and and the walls with wooden cladding. That should be making it a bit more cozy for the guests.

We have tried to work out the concept of living close to the nature. Viripara is away from the hustles of the Munnar town and is near to the forest. I guess we were not clear regarding the explanation about the distance from the Munnar town. We would make sure that the explanation is more crisp and clear for the future guests.

Regarding the safety of the kids, again We would ensure that the guests have a clear picture of the terrain. Also we will try to work more on the safety part. My apologies, that we assumed the safety is at the best as the previous guests with kids did not provide an open feedback.

We also understand that mobile signal is not good at times. We will provide the facility to use the mobile phone available with the care taker in case of emergencies.

We would definitely make the best effort to improve the quality and would like to see you back in Solitude for your next vacation.
