We stayed in Sunshine Suite in May.
-Location: (4/5) About 20 km from Munnar.
-Surroundings: (5/5) Wonderful view. Serene.
-Cleanliness of the resort: (4/5) Clean.
-Room size(Sunshine suite): (5/5) Very spacious!
-Room facilities: (2/5) Queen size bed is the only Plus point. No fan (despite repeated requests to provide one). No Kettle/coffee maker (you would expect atleast this for the tariff. Moreover its cold in mornings that you really require one). LCD TV is provided, but the picture quality is so bad that you will not feel like watching it! No wi-fi/internet connection.
-Room service: (2.5/5) An additional 35% for room service. Service is slow & clumsy.
-Bath room: (3/5) Clean & spacious. Hot water round-the-clock available. No bath tub. The only toiletries available are soap & shampoo. No oil/comb/brush/paste/moisturizer/etc.
-Restaurant:(3/5) Mornings complimentary breakfast is good. Buffet is available at night (Rs.350), but lacks taste & variety. Food overall is not worth mentioning.
A pure Veg restaurant though available is pathetic...lacks cleanliness, taste and all that a restaurant is meant for.
-Staff: (2/5) I wish they would be more responsible & professional. You have to repeatedly make requests for things to happen(if at all!).
-Activities inside the resort: (1/5) A small 'activities room' with Table tennis & carroms is all you have. And yes, an expensive 'ayurveda centre'.

Would I recommend this resort? Well, Yes. Because its spacious & clean. Moreover, when u go to Munnar, you spend most of your time sight-seeing...

Room Tip: Sunshine suite is where I stayed.. (3/5)

We were 4 families from Chennai & B'lore that visited Ayur county in May. While the location is good, the same cant be said for anything else. Buffet gets over, waiters waiting for instructions from somebody, people at tables have an empty look (to figure out who is in charge) OR have filled their plate hence have the devouring look. Room service takes long due to the structure of the place, but no reason for waiters to come and say that ooops, we forgot the tea spoon with the early morning tea!!! When you call room service people, they are more than happy to argue and less happy to provide a service. We lingered thru 2nights like this but the best was on the final day. One of the families asked for milk (for their 3 year old son). The milk sent by room service was sour. After breakfast, we went to speak to the GM of the property (a Mr John). When we explained the situation to him about the bad room service, no food in buffet, and the sour milk...he says he has 42 years of hospitality service all across South India. That he knows what is happening in his resort...we cannot speak to the proprietor because HE IS IN CHARGE, the milk that we showed him was non-chalantly swept aside by him saying that we spoilt it!!! Why didnt we call him at 7 am to complain about the milk....now at 1030 it is too late.We eventually managed to speak to the proprietor who was very courteous and understood the situation.

The infrastructure of the place is good but the way the management is running the show is simply ridiculous.

We are a couple who just got married and went there for our honeymoon. Customer service was absolutely terrible and we had bed-bugs in our beds and insects and roaches in the bedroom and bathroom. Management charged us exhorbitantly for an upgrade and then the final bill was double of what they told us initially. Our room was on a very uphill slope and the jeep that they provided to take us there had an accident causing injuries to both of us and others on the jeep. When we complained and argued about these injuries and the extra charges on the bill and refused to pay extra, rather than apologizing, they abused us in Malayalam and took us to the police station where the cops didnt even listen to our story and threatened to jail us if we didnt pay up. Worst nightmare of my entire life. Dont ever go this place unless you want to waste your time with unprofessional, pathetic and corrupt managers.

Room Tip: Never go to this place

Chancellorresort, Manager at Ayur County Resorts, responded to this reviewResponded May 20, 2012

This particular guest ran away from the resort without checking out and without paying money of his stay, food and without paying the cab charges, which the resort had arranged. he told the cab driver that someday at his home town was hospitalised and convinced him. The resort staff came to know on this when the staff went for housekeeping. as they had told the fromt office that they are going for sight seeing

We informed the airport police and, meanwhile communicated with the cab driver, and the cab was taken to the police station where the police settled the issue.

When police questioned the guest he said the jeep driver had driven the jeep fast, is that an excuse for not paying the money for his stay, food and the cab resort arranged

Trip advisor, please do not post such reviews, which has no genuinity at all
