We stayed here one night traveling between Delhi and Agra. We visited the bird sanctuary and arrived here at late dusk. It was hard to get an idea of the hotel's layout, there were light paths that lead this way and that but no good signage. That said the grounds were beautiful although the place felt a bit deserted and dark. We had a nice dinner at the restaurant, a pretty building that was cosy on a cold night.
Our 2 rooms were in the back, farthest most building. And for the money this was the most disappointing aspect of the place. They were spacious but rather cold feeling, no rugs beside the beds, coldly lit bathrooms that had seem better days. The beds were hard, even by Indian standards and the sheets really were ready for the donation bin. If this had cost half as much I'd most likely be writing a better review but it's just not a hotel that should cost $130 a night.
Perhaps in the Summer when the pool is usable and the cool floors welcoming this would have faired better. Morning was nice, a good breakfast and we had a beautiful stroll around the mist shrouded grounds.
It would not take much to really spruce this place up. The public areas are well laid out, the grounds very nice, the rooms are not horrible, they just need an update of new furniture, some warm touches and the bathrooms need a good grout clean, new fixtures, etc..
