This expansive fort is filled with some of the most beautiful monuments around - from the Mahavir Stambh to the Vijay Stambh. There are random carvings, carved out caves and more littered across the city. Apart from Hampi, this is probably one of the few places where history continues to live on.

So if you're a history buff or an explorer at heart, here is definitely a great place to go. Just remember, even in the dead of winter, the sun in Rajasthan isn't the friendliest, so be sure to take some head-covering along during your day-time travels.

While visiting the Chittorgarh, you can see the huge walls of this fort from very far and it covers the complete hill. To see the fort you actually need to travel in your vehicle as this place is very big and have lots of places to see inside the fort. One can see the complete city from the fort and many places inside the fort are well maintained. Must see Light and sound show.

Saw the walls of the fort 1st from the highway, for a second couldnt believe that its really the fort. The walls covered the complete hill and hill was quite huge. As we get near, the image got clearer and we were amazed. The fort has multiple structures inside, every place has its own story, sad part most of it is in ruins, thanks to the multiple attacks.
Its always good to hire a licensed Guide, there would be multiple touts roaming on bikes stopping vehicles, beware of them. One can take his vehicle inside the fort, so walking inside is minimized.

This fort is dipped in history and myths, in layers, so strong that can create a havoc in the whole country!

I have visited this fort before, in 1985. It seems heavy restoration has been going on, shifting a bit of this and that. But that doesnt hurt the charm of the place much.
