We booked the valley view room for 2 nights.
Pros:
There's a quaint feel about the place, view from the room is good - if not great
Cons:
Bad, bad service. I could clearly notice deferential treatment towards non-Indian customers and not quite the same towards others. It is a resort and it should aim to make their guests happy and comfortable. Instead I felt as if we were staying at a hostel. First ,the complimentary breakfast is not served as buffet. You need to place an order from a very limited menu. Nobody is going to ask you if you need anything else. Second, Kodai is extremely cold and they will not provide kettles in the room. This should actually be put in capital letters on their website, since I have never encountered a resort at a hill station that does not provide water heater in the room - its a basic amenity. Third they will not serve dinner post 9pm. We reached at 9.30 one night and had to walk back in the cold to get some dinner. I had a great time at Kodai, the only letdown being the stay here. Spend a little more and book a 4-star or 5-star place and save yourself the trauma.
