Had a great time in this villa. Everything was perfect for us from the arrival and the welcome gifts, to the comfy rooms and our own private pool. The beach is a few minutes walk away and is beautiful. Air conditioning was great and a necessity. Very relaxing place. Highly recommended for families.

“Unique wooden villa with a great outdoor space”

We had a big group of 14 people spread across three pool villas at Golden Pool Villas. All three villas are great. Beautiful decoration in all the different villas with subtle differences here and there between them. Most of the furnishings are the same, but some layouts are bigger and pool areas are different in each villa.

Lazing out around the pools is the highlight here and the reason we booked. Each villa has it's own private pool. We also stayed here so we could all be together around the one area. The weather was amazing during our stay. Tropical beauty. We have stayed on Koh Lanta before, and we think this is the best beach on Koh Lanta. The beach is only about a 5 min walk away through the rubber tree plantation shortcut next door. Good atmosphere at the Why Not Bar and some fantastic little restaurants and coffee shops around.

Villa Ayutthaya has the biggest outdoor dining and sitting area, with a high thatched roof building overlooking the pool. The second floor of the villa is all wood, from the floor to the ceiling to the roof, and out to the balcony. This is the smaller of the villas as it has three bedrooms (not four like the others). However, it more than makes up for it in charm. Great views from the balcony and very comfortable around the pool.

Overall a brilliant place to stay, and if you have a big group or family, it is very good value to take one or even more villas. It's like having your own mini resort. The service and communication with the owners and management was very fast and we could not ask for more. Golden Pool Villas is a great place to stay.

“Golden Pool Villas was great!”

Really nice pool villa. Really enjoyed our stay here. Clean and spacious with a great spot only a short walk to the beach. Kantiang Bay is a highlight of Koh Lanta. Definitely worth the money, everything is exactly as in the pictures. It is a quite and private location, but there is still plenty of places to eat and visit for a week stay or so. Plenty of room for a family with three bedrooms and two living rooms. Upstairs is decorated completely out of teak wood and is very charming and cozy. Swimming pool is perfect with a shady area also. Would recommend this villa, and would stay again.

“relaxing break at a lovely bay”

After driving from the airport for a few hours and reaching the top of Ko Lanta, I was a bit disappointed...lots of traffic, tourists and back to back cheap shops. We continued driving and after about half an hour we arrived in Kantiang Bay.........it was beautiful. What a pretty little bay. A quaint little village, a dozen or so restaurants and a few other shops, massage places. It was just what we wanted for a week of relaxation.
The villa was comfy for a family of 5. We had a few hiccups with problems in the villa but the owners were very quick to attempt to fix them up. A quick 5 minute walk through a rubber plantation and we were at the village, another 5 minutes and we were at the beach. The villa was very quiet most of the time. The other villas are very close so your peacefulness is really at the discretion of who is staying next to you. We had a mixed week!!
Two bedrooms are upstairs and one is downstairs. External stairs when some children are downstairs and some upstairs was not optimal. All beds are queen size. Some single beds would have given more flexibility.
The trip back to the airport was stressful as the ferry queues are very long and would have to be the slowest ferries in the world! We just made our flight after some very quick driving after clearing the 2 ferries. The bridge which is currently being built will only alleviate the problem slightly as it will only replace one ferry.

“Safe, quiet, close to beach and great views (and very responsive, helpful owners)”

We stayed 5 nights at the Golden Pool Villas with our 10 year old daughter. The pool was cleaned each morning - the place was spotless. The view from the deck was beautiful and the call to prayer each evening was very peaceful. The AC worked well, stove worked perfectly, there were pots and pans and plenty of plates/forks etc - and the hot water was great. There was even a washing machine which came in handy.. We had plenty of drinks provided for us in the refrig - including sodas, waters and beers. The owners were very responsive the one time we had some trouble with the water (I guess the person who cleaned the pool used our water to fill up another pool). I started to wash our white clothes and brown water and air came sputtering out of the spout. The owners were wonderful - they sent someone to pick up our laundry within 20 minutes and had everything cleaned (all brown spots removed) for us. The beach was a quick 5-10 minute walk. The only two negatives were not with the place. They were the transportation to the villa from the airport and the lack of real grocery store in town (there was only a 7-11 with very little food selection - mainly processed snacks). They did have very small one serving milks, eggs and some yogurts. When we were picked up from the airport it was Christmas eve day so there was more traffic than usual. Since we had been on a plane and through security - we didn't have any water/drinks with us. Because of traffic and waiting for 2 ferries - it took us 4 hours to get to the villa. No water was given to us the entire time. On the way back - it was a different driver who very kindly provided us with plenty of water - and a bathroom stop (plus it took less than 2 hours to return). Regarding the lack of real grocery store - our daughter has severe food allergies and gluten intolerance. We stayed at the Golden Pool Villas in order to give her a break from eating out (the soy sauce on everything made her quite sick). We would definitely have stopped on our way to the villa at the one and only real town on the island to get food if we had known in advance. Luckily I brought some gluten free pasta and some cereal in our luggage which she ate all week. So - if you plan on cooking much - I suggest you either rent a car for part of your stay there or stop at a real grocery store on the way to the villa. My husband and I got take out noodles, veggies and chicken for ourselves several nights which was delicious and only 4 minutes away. The beach was great - and the snorkel trip with the Australian dive center there was the best.

“Excellent Experience, Great hosts, beautiful villa”

We stayed here in July 2013 for about 4 days. It was a great experience. Upon arrival in Krabi we were picked up and dropped off at the villa at no cost to us and that was arranged by Suki as well. Suki was a great host and she made sure we were super comfortable. The beds were so comfortable, the air conditioning was great as well. The villa itself is beautiful. We stayed on the 2nd level and the view was nice as well. It is a very short distance from Kantiang Bay. Suki helped us with our scooter rental as well as snorkeling gear. The fridge was filled with fruits, bottled water, beer etc. as well as provided with coffee and tea. The housecleaning staff did a great job with cleaning as well. It was an excellent stay, the villa was very nice and clean. It was nice staying on the second floor as we had the balcony to ourselves and it was a nice place to relax after a long day. Thanks for a great experience Suki! We will be back soon I hope!

“Perfect accomodation in a laid back area!”

My boyfriend and I stayed in Villa Ayutthaya for 5 nights. Suki (the owner) was very friendly, helpful and efficient when responding to emails, so we felt really comfortable booking with them and couldn’t wait to get there! The villa is just as stunning as the photos online! The place was immaculately clean and well presented. The attention to detail really makes it feel more like a dream home than a regular hotel room, such as the lanterns that lead up to the villas, the little gold dragons, beautiful scrolls, artwork and ornaments! For the two of us, it was plenty of room and the bed was so comfortable – we wanted to take it back with us! After days out in the sun, we spent the evenings relaxing on the balcony with the view of the mountains and the sea, or down by the wonderful, heated pool. There is also some great gym equipment if you fancy a bit of exercise.

We were also provided with all the details that we’d need to make the most of our time on Kantiang Bay, such as tours, motorbike rental, takeaway menus, local spas and many more! We were also provided with a Thai cell phone to make short local calls. Suki (the owner) and Mr. Ae from the villa info guide, were extremely helpful and experienced guides who made sure that we had a good time. We arranged longtail boat trips to the 4 Islands, along with visiting the local waterfalls and elephant trekking – its definitely a trip we won’t be forgetting anytime soon!

The location is amazing, a little bit secluded to ensure a great night’s sleep, but only a 5 minute walk to the local beach. Kantiang Bay is very relaxed and the beach is gorgeous and peaceful! There are also lots of great restaurants to choose from, our personal favourite was the ‘Baan Lanta Resort’ where we got to pick fresh seafood and they cooked it perfectly! With the beach views at this restaurant, we even saw a fire show which was incredible!

We would both full heartedly recommend Villa Ayutthaya as ideal accommodation for your stay in Kantiang Bay!
