The Riverside Guest house is beautiful to look at, has a wonderful location and a great common area overlooking the water. We had an upstairs room and it was well appointed with its own bathroom, a comfortable bed and a window overlooking the internal garden. Just lovely.
As mentioned in previous reviews, because the building is old you can hear everything from other rooms. We were lucky that the occupants of all the rooms around us were respectful and we had no issues with excessive noise. However, I can see how one loud talker or loud snorer could ruin the experience. We were fortunate but if you are a light sleeper this may not be place for you. Also, if you like to sleep in late this is definately not the place for you because the neighborhood dogs start barking when the sun comes up.
Wi-Fi is available but intermittent at best. We were asked to order breakfast the night before so we foolishly assumed it was included with the room. We were given a piece of paper with some check boxes for ordering but the paper did not have any prices. It was a little shocking to find out that it wasn't included and was very expensive. Lesson learned for us but it is something you may want to be aware of.More
