For 800k vnd (35usd) we got our own little boat with shade roof which is a must for any time after 11am. We were met at our hotel (West hotel) at 5.30am. Yes you want to go that early to avoid heat and see the bussle of the market. My guide peeled pineapple, mangosteen, found the coffee boat, made us presents rose bouquet and duck from leaves she was lovely. After the market took us up the canals for a lunch stop, showed us an orchard. Got back about 1pm. Great day out

Morning trip to the markets, our large boat was left out in the open water and we where taken by a long tail boat into the canal, this took about 25 mins. Absolutely amazing to see how the people do there trade. Good to plan on your trip to Vietnam

To be honest I'm not sure what I expected but it was slightly disappointing. Not the hubbub that I expected. Seemed more of a wholesale market

We spent the last two days with Susan. From the moment we stepped off the bus, till we left she treated us like family. Showed us the Mekong Delta secrets only a local would know and welcomed us into her home located in a remote village on the shores of the river. On the first day we floated down the Mekong in her dad's boat and visited the local market to source ingredients for dinner. Then heading back to her place to rest and prepare an amazing home made meal. It can't get more authentic! The next morning we headed to the floating markets for breakfast. Susan seems to know where the best produce is and will treat you to some delicious food! There are also other interesting delights she showed us, but I can't give everything away. If you want to experience the real Vietnam then I highly recommend this tour. We loved every moment - thank you Susan!

We got our tour set up through Ms. Ha (Than Ha Guesthouse) and Joy picked us up at 5am and walked us to the doc where our boat and driver were waiting. Joy was fantastic, she spoke great English and knew so much about the city, the culture, the delta, food and plants that grew there. We first went to one cai rang market, it was very busy and full of farmers and merchants from all over, the fresh produce was amazing. The sunrise while we were on the water was incredible. Then you tour a small family owned noodle factory, take a walk through the country side and have lunch at a great local spot, see another smaller floating market and then journey home. It is definitely worth the early morning wake up. Our tour lasted until about 1pm.
