We booked a "deluxe" room who was finally a dark small room with a dirty attached bathroom.
The food was terrible, one of the worst I hate in all over south east Asia. But you have no choice, it's the only place in the area.
What's more, the team is not so friendly ...
Finally, the only reason to stay there is the lagoon, with great coral reef, humphead Parrotfish, reef sharks, turtles ...

The place was clean & acceptable service. Very basic facilities which included aircon rooms & an attached bathroom/toilet.
No heater though for bathing. Nor was there any jug kettle for boiling water. You have to get it at the in house restaurant for a small charge.
Eating in your room is discouraged to minimise rodents so you're forced to depend on the restaurant for all your snacks. Meals were pretty basic but acceptable as everything including the kitchen were clean. Service was always with a smile & quite fast.
The view & beach makes up for everything. Outstanding beach especially the Adam & Eve one which was 30 mins walk from our chalet. Full of corals & fishes..
overall enjoyed our trip & will visit again.

Extremely bad behavior of their boat man who doesn't like tourist. Very disappointed but not surprising since this is general behavior of the local people on the Island ! Just want the money and do nothing!!!

My daughter and stayed here for 3 days. My daughter was diving the area. This is a very modest, bare bones place but full of charm, families and fabulous beach. The staff were terrific. A young woman named Wawa was the point person and so very helpful. Our deluxe room was very basic but good enough for us. However in all honesty it is a step above glorified camping. It was great for us. The air conditioner worked very well and was much needed. Perhentian Kecil has a few higher end resorts but for the most part are full of modest accommodations. We are travelers who can live with the basics and the fabulous people that work here, the views and overall relaxing atmosphere was great for us.
Keep in mind that you must take a 5 minute water taxi to go anywhere from D'Lagoon. We were nervous about that but it worked out just fine. If you are a backpacker this place is great. It is not handicap accessible.

We came to Perhentian just for diving and decided to stay in D'lagoon considering it's more remote and quiet place. There's also a divecenter there so we were planning to do a lot of fundives with them.

However, while my wife went diving with them, she had a strange sound coming from her regulator. While under the water, sound got louder and louder and at the end my wife had to cancel the dive. After that, the manager of the divecenter came to yell at us and blamed us for the incident, saying there's never nothing wrong with her equipment. It also seemed that they didn't even investicate what was wrong with the regulator. We also noticed that while other people went diving, there was A LOT of freeflowing regulators so for us it seemed that they are not maintaining them as they should. Therefore, we ended up diving with Turtle Bay Divers who always picked us up from D'lagoon.

D'lagoon itself is more quiet and remote place to stay. The beach in D'lagoon isn't that nice as there is a lot of dead corals on the beach and water is pretty shallow. Snorkelling here is okayish, food-portions are really really small and staff is sometimes really nice, sometimes really rude (expect for the waitress, she is always nice and smiling eventhough working hard all day long :))

All in all, this seems to be one of the places which could be nice but I guess the staff is already pretty tired for travellers and tourisms and more keen on money-making.
