“Do not miss if Ancient History interests you”

Great small museum of the ancient history of this part of Peru.
Grounds, though small, are lovely. We especially liked the 1500+ year old waterway in the rear yard. It is an oasis in dry, dusty place. It was odd that they had no place to sit and rest a bit.
BTW, it is about 5 blocks from the main plaza. Interesting walk if you do not mind a bit of heat and dust too much. There are plenty of cabs if you do.
Do not miss if you are an archeologic history buff.

“Lovely little museum, but hard to find!”
Reviewed 19 November 2011

It was a lovely little museum with lots of pottery and information about excavations in the area. Also in the garden there was a mini replica of the lines in an old aqueduct. Definitely worth a visit, but it is about 1.5km out of the plaza de armas and you will think you are leaving everything behind, but keep going and you´ll see the big red and white sign on the right hand side.

“I can't recommend it!”
Reviewed 19 April 2011

The staff at the front desk is unfriendly and don't care at all. The english translation doesn't fit with the pictures and showpieces, many pages were simply missing. The garden is nice but very small. I really would't recommend this museum, it's simply not worth an entrance fee of 15 Soles and it is kind of boring.
