Stayed here for one night & reluctantly so. The room wasn't awful, but the bathroom certainly was. The shower was so old that it had mould growing all over it & was cracked. There were a lot of ants scurrying around in there too, not making it feel the nicest of places to freshen up after a day of travelling. We were told there was wifi in the rooms, turns out this wasn't true & that it was only available downstairs. The staff were quite friendly (apart from fibbing about the Internet) & were polite enough. But that's about all I can say for the place. It's a shame, because judging from the writing all over the walls, it has previously been a great place to stay!

Rooms are basic but what you would expect from the price. The shower isn't great though and our shower head holder was cracked so didn't work. Bed was relatively comfortable but the lack of A/C and fan being away from the bed made it a hot night. Staff however were very pleasant and Taka (sp?) even offered to drive us into town for free at the end of his shift. There isn't a view due to some huge hotel being built in front of Golden View Rest but the best views in Kandy are to be found around the city anyway. Menu is a bit sparse and would benefit from a bit of a spruce up! Stayed for one night.

This hotel once had a great view, hence the name. Unfortunately, a new 6 storey hotel has been build, entirely blocking the view. On the balcony of the best room, you are watched by 24 rooms opposite the road.
However, it is still a good value (RS 1800) if you just need a place to sleep.

We ate here having had a very bad experience at the Sharon inn which is located close by.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the Sri Lankan curry which was served with rice, coconut sambal and two additional veg dishes. Food was good and at a reasonable cost. Would recommend for a meal and seeing that the staff were so welcoming I guess the accommodation would be equally welcoming too

Had hot water (but abysmal shower pressure), a strong fan, a mosquito net, clean sheets and a comfy mattress. Also, its away from the early morning sleep busters, like the music school and temples, so great for a good nights sleep, which i badly needed.

I only stayed one night and for 2000rs it was one of the cheaper options around there.

Very bad business. We were offered a room at 730pm and were told the person that booked never showed up. I thought that was a bit early but the guy said he spoke over the phone with the person cancelling. An hour later the person with booking shows up and we were asked to leave immediately and to go up the hill and find another guest house in the rain with no help at all from the manager. He only knew how to help himself with double bookings. The room was not that nice either with stains on sheets.

2500rupees for top floor room with private bathroom. Functional, basic, no frills. Fine if you're a backpacker on a budget, yes the bathroom is haphazard but hot water worked ok and no problems to report. On a steep road about 15 min walk to town centre. WiFi very slow.
