The three story house has amazing views and is very clean and spacious. The manager was exceptionally friendly and helpful and served very tasty breakfasts. He was also very accommodating in terms of fitting in with our schedule. Lovely stay ... highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms were mostly quiet except for the one evening when there was noise from some surrounding hotels...

We stayed for two nights at this place.
It was very nice, you've good a nice view over the city from the balcony.
Room was clean and comfty.
You felt more like guests to the family of the "hotel manager" than being in a unpersonal hotel. He was very helpful even when we took over his kitchen for making dinner.
A good place to stay in Kandy.
Should we come back to Kandy we know where to stay.

i stayed here for 2 nights after a long haul flight from the US. i couldn't have picked a better place to relax and beat the jet lag. Mahinda was such a gracious host and helped us with anything we needed. it is about a 15 minute walk into town and lovely to be away from the hustle and bustle.

we stayed in room #1 and the views were incredible. the bed was super comfy and the place was spotless clean. breakfast was substantial and perfect for beginning the day. internet was reliable.

Mahinda's friend Sunil showed us around for a day via tuk tuk and i would highly recommend you do the same as it was one of my favorite parts of my 2 weeks in sri lanka. if i find myself in kandy again, and i hope i do, i would stay here without a doubt.

Room Tip: room #1 had a fantastic 180 degree view of the city below and hills beyond

The homestay is very nice, clean and comfortable. It sits up in the "mountain" over looking the town and the lake. It is walkable to and from the town (a tiny incline FYI) about a 15 minute walk or a very short inexpensive tuk tuk ride. The room is very spacious, has an amazing view and was very comfortable. Our room had air con. The hosts are beyond friendly and are always there to greet you when you come back to the house. Mahinda is a very nice kind man at the house. The wife, I forget her name is a doll who cooks up very delicious breakfasts. Mahinda got us a personal tuk tuk driver for the day, his name is Sunil. I highly recommend getting Sunil to take you are where ever you want to go. He took us to an elephant orphanage, to a spice garden to an amazing local lunch at a spot called Hotel Siyan's to name a few. Mahinda got us the tuk tuk driver for the day for only 2000 rupees.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

access to this 03 Room Homestay is a little difficult, if you do not have your own transport, however the overall experience of our stay was great
Felt we were home with Mahinda , his wife & Dinu taking such great care of our morning breakfasts, ensuring the rooms are tidy and also volunteering to bring us dinner from a restaurant close by.....they were just perfect and also the only reason for us to rate it a full 5 star

A shared balcony and lounge with amazing views. Well appointed rooms. Very clean comfortable and calm, away from the chaos of the wonderful town of Kandy. At the same time the lake is only a twenty minute walk away. With plenty of restaurants locally. And the famous temple is a ten minute three wheeler drive. The hill up to this lovely oasis can be a little hair raising, it is very steep but the views are absolutely worth it! The manager is very welcoming and kind and goes above and beyond to help make your stay enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a balcony, but if you cant get it other room is fine and you have use of the loung...

Kandy is a difficult town to review re accommodations...stay downtown for convenience, and it is crowded and noisy. Stay in the surrounding hills, and you will need a tuk-tuk to go anywhere (especially back up)

36 B&B is situated in the hills, about a 25 min walk down to the town.

Plus notes:
- view is very nice from 2 of the 3 rooms, overlooking Kandy Lake and the hills beyond
- rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable
- linens and towels clean
- wifi is strong and consistent
- site minder fixes a nice breakfast, and offers tea on request other times
- gentlemen who minds the place, Mohinda, is very nice and will work hard to make your stay enjoyable
- they will do laundery on site
Minus notes
- B&B only serves breakfast, so be prepared to step out for any other meals...tuk-tuk about 200 LKR each way
- Some areas of rooms needs a little TLC
- B&B takes cash only at the moment...Booking.com, at the time of writing, indicated they accept Visa/Mastercard...check first to avoid a surprise
- common areas not A/C...they can get quite warm, and if you open the doors at night, the mosquitos get in

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view
