Spacious clean rooms, friendly staff. Rooms look out onto a beautiful garden. The two friendly resident dogs will take you on a sunset walk to the lake for a view of the rock. Staff able to assist with trip to Dambulla cave. Enjoyed our stay here very much.

My wife and I stayed in a large comfortable double bedroom with bathroom overlooking the large garden, which is well maintained by the Manager Chandana. The only sounds one hears are the birds and the occasional passing of a bullock cart on the narrow lane next to the property. Chandana and his brother were very helpful and friendly during our stay, serving delicious curries in the evening and very adequate breakfasts in the morning in the small restaurant in the grounds. The limited accommodation around Sigiriya is either very expensive or very basic, but Sigiriya Cottage is in a niche of its own, with five rooms set in beautiful surroundings, and very good value. A short walk along the lane will take one to a small unspoiled little village near two lovely lakes and paddy fields. If you like long walks, just keep going.

Five rooms comprise this low key resort a couple of Kms from the Sigiriya rock fortress. Makes an excellent base for visiting the Ancient Cities. Rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is generous and tasty. Given the location is some distance from restaurants, eating in at night is pretty much the only option, but, fortunately, the food is pretty good and they will make it spicy, if you request it. The manager is very friendly and extremely helpful. The resort has a large garden and its a great place to relax after a hard day of hot, thirst inducing touring. Its very quiet and peaceful at night and you can put the ear plugs away. Very good value for money.

Room Tip: A great base for a tour of the Ancient Cities

the most impressive place we stayed in Sri Lanka. cozy yard, nice room. only five rooms available. above all, we enjoyed the most about rhe hospitality of the owner and the tranquility at night. I can hardly find a word to say how nice that feeling was. The only thing bad is that they don't have much exposure on the internet and it takes some time for them to reture the email. if u really wanna go, reserve earlier!

The Sigiriya Cottage guest house comprises of 4 bungalows in a garden setting.
The rooms are are clean, very roomy and air comditioned. Breakfast is served if an open sided garden restaraunt. There is no pool but you can use the facilities at either the Hotel Sigiriya or Sigiriya Village hotel for 250 rupee (£1.50). The Lion rock is a 5 minute journey down the road. There is a bar across the road from the cottages and the excellent New Sigiri Restaraunt is about 1 Km away - great place for lunch serving local curry and rice or less spicy western style meals - try their sea food for a real treat.

If you want to try something a little different you can take an Ox cart safari around the village where you will see how the locals live.

I will definately stay here again the next time that I am touring in the area

We stayed two nights at Sigiriya Cottage and used it as our base for exploring Dambulla and Sigiriya.

It is fairly basic, but good value for money for what it is. We stayed in a chalet from which we stepped out into a garden with lots of trees and plants. There is a little outdoor eating area where we had breakfast and dinner (which was very nice).

The surrounding area is very green, quiet and peaceful. I think you probably can walk to Sigiriya rock from there, but we drove.

The owner was very accommodating and tried very hard to make our stay pleasant.

It isn't a luxurious place, but it is clean, in a nice place, with a helpful owner, good food and clean bedding, so very good value for money. We would recommend it!
