We have just returned from a lovely few days at Esperanza. The location is stunning! The beach was almost deserted with beautiful soft sand and lined with palm trees. They have a couple of body boards with our children loved using in the sea and pool. We were warned the children shouldn't go out too far due to the currents, but they had a lot of fun in the shallow waves! The breakfast was delicious. We satyed in the 3 bedroom villa which worked well for our family. Each room was clean nicely decorated, with good a/c and each with an en-suite. There was also a large fridge and freezer and a full kitchen! The only small downside was the restaurant was very expensive, but we did enjoy the pizzas. Would highly recommend, it was the best beach we went to in Sri Lanka.

Our Sri Lankan friends booked this local gem that we’d never have discovered otherwise. It’s on a magnificent stretch of unspoiled secluded beach and reflects the charm, ambience and authenticity of Colonial Sri Lanka rather than the generic modern resorts that we’d probably have found ourselves. We stayed in the villa which contained three bedrooms with ensuites and a living room and kitchen where we enjoyed many fine pre-dinner cocktails.
The big surprise was the unbelievable five star international standard dining!!! The chefs had trained for five years and their creativity, attention to detail, mix of ingredients and incredible flavours was absolutely mind blowing! Our friends ordered lunches and dinners in the mornings and the staff went to buy and prepare the food which would have rivalled anything in a fancy five star establishment in a big city. Food and sauces were prepared from scratch and left us all in awe of their skill.
If you are looking for a laid back charm and appreciate great food and big smiles this place is adorable.

The location of the villas is right on a white sandy beach and exceeded my expectations on arrival. It was just the kind of place I had been looking for to kick off shoes and really chill for a few days. We stayed in the suite which was very spacious and comfortable with lots of veranda space giving great views over the resort and sea. There are interesting items of ethnic decor and the place has a feel of modern colonialism about it.
The dining area was outdoors with a rustic touch and offered food which was fresh, simple, tasty and portions were generous. It is a great place to lose yourself and commune with the tranquil surroundings.

For all those who hate big hotels...who want to just chill ad be left in peace...to read... dream... think... do nothing... all when you want... this is the ideal place. The surroundings are like a picture postcard... the view from our room was so beautiful it takes ur breath away...the sea and the beautiful empty beach is a stones throw away...

We booked for two nights and I didn’t want to leave. A truly unique magical place which has a certain something which is hard to describe but which makes this villa a unique and unforgettable place.

The staff are friendly but do not disturb you. The food excellent.

A very rare find.

Located right on the beach, the villa that we stayed at, had three rooms, kitchen and a large living room. The decor is colonial, the rooms are spacious although the bathrooms don't look plush. The toiletries are very pedantic in terms of quality so are the towels and bed linen. The service is very friendly although at times little slow. Like they took a bit of time to find our booking, the rooms were not ready although we arrived at about 1530 hrs. The team did not have much information about local sight seeing. However, they were very friendly.
