Had a chance to try both the eco house and a standard room and they were both great. However it is worth saying although the room is a lot more comfy staying in the eco house has its magic...
The entire resort is clean and tidy and is being looked after at all times, the only place that need some improvement is the main gate area as it is quite easy to drive past without noticing it and also the damaged rocky road which brings you there doesnt look representative.
The garden looks nice and with some peacocks living there it is really uniqe.
The pool area also looks good and clean and view from the pool and the restaurant is astonishing.
Someone may say that getting on the beach may be dangerous because you need to cross the main road. That is true however I think it definitely isnt a big problem and if you rent a scooter (which you can do in a hotel or in many other places in a town) you can travel a bit around the coast and discover other beautiful beaches nearby (and not only the beaches...)
I also read some comments from people complaining about the noise from the road.
I can tell although you can hear something it absolutely isnt that disturbing (we even stayed one night in the room closest to the road).
Breakfast and the food in a restaurant was nice and for reasonable prices.
They also sell beer which isnt a matter of course in Sri lanka.
All the staff are very polite and helpful. They gave us some good advice on what we can do around.
Hotel also offers ayurvedic massage therapy (Rs.3500 for 1 hour) and it was amazing.
I thing it also worth mentioning that we arrived more than 4 hours before our check in time but got our room straightaway without having to pay for early check in.

Room Tip: If you like it comfy go for the standard rooms but if you prefer adventure definitely pick the eco h...

So glad we stayed in the tree house -- a very unique experience. Though it's a small space it's very cleverly designed to have everything you need, and it was very pleasant sitting on the balcony listening to the birds, watching the squirrels, and looking at the pool and the ocean through the trees. We had dinner by the pool and had the best fish soup and bread we've ever had. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast, and it was nice to have the choice to order bacon if that's what you like. Staff were very helpful and this place had the best driver we encountered during our three week stay in Sri Lanka, though almost all the tuk tuk and taxi drivers we met were fantastic. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nuga Eden.

the resort itself with the pool, the treehouse we stayed in and the staff was really really nice! very good service as well.

but if you want to go somewhere, you always have to walk alongside the busy a2 road or take a tuk tuk to the other side of the city where the good bars, restaurants and beaches are located.

and for that it's a little bit too expensive for sri lanka in my opinion, i had way better for less.

Stayed in Tangalle for 2 nights, and was thoroughly impressed with the room quality, friendly hospitality, attentiveness of staff, and cleanliness - both of the impressively well-kept grounds and our A/C room (Wifi too)

Team welcome from first to last minute, welcoming us with drinks, great breakfast buffets and superb cooking, whilst also organised a cheap yet delightful one-day trip of surrounding sights, plus sorted travel (and drove us personally) to our next location. Would recommend.

Some frind of us recommended us this place, so we went directly to it.
It is a little bit far from Tangalle city (where there is not specially much), and on the oposite site of the beach/tourist area around Madilla Road. But again, nothing a Tuk Tuk can't do!
The place itself is beautiful, and some workers where constantly taking care of it to keep it like this. The rooms were nice and clean, the service and the food/drinks were also nice, breakfast ok.
The highlight of the place is actually the pool and the pool area. It is just beautifully done, and has direct view to the beach next to the place. If waves are not high, the beach is 2 minutes away from the Villa. I just spent hours in the pool!
Sadly the main road is too close to the place, which makes it a little loud and not 100% Idillyc. But if you have enough with 95%, go for it!

We were really looking forward to our stay in an Eco Villa that had been booked a couple of months ahead. However, upon arrival were told that some repairs were being done to it so we had been moved to a hotel room. The room was fine, with air conditioning and a good shower but not what we had been expecting. It would have been nice to have been told in advance so we could consider what alternative room we would have liked.

Other than the hiccup with the room, the facilities were great. A nice pool looking out to the ocean (albeit with the main road breaking up the view), a decent restaurant and very helpful staff.

We do note that having the main road so close by does disrupt the serenity of the place, but I understand this is a common problem along the Sri Lankan coast. Also, the hotel is advertised as having spa therapies, but it seems these have to be booked ahead as this aspect of the business is run externally.
