best part is its central location..near to railway station, isbt.hotel is well mainted, painted properly, quite big reception area wd nice sofas.checking in took somewhat longer as the reception guys seemed slow.lift wer working fine.rooms are spacious and well maintained.the tv didnt show many channels.only few basic channels were available.newspaper ws not available for all.no internet facility in rooms.its only available at the reception area.food provided at the restaurant ws good but way too costly.can be easily booked through the ginger website or by visiting the irctc rail tourism website as well. u will also b charged 5.15 % extra service charged at the counter even if u book online. In the end the trip was average and satisfying.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 5th floor are spacious and recently maintained so try for this floor.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Very close to the metro, airport express and the railway station where all the major trains come. The 24 hr restaurant is also very nice. Good food reasonable price. The check in was smooth, rooms a bit small though but clean and nice. Overall a good experience. Worth every penny spent. Recommended.

the hotel is situated in a very very smelly & dirty location. The approach is on a road that hawkers & coolies use as a toilet . The hotel itself is decent . The rooms are pretty small , but neat & tidy. The A/c in our room didn't work & despite an electrician coming to fix it , nothing happened. The quality of their food in the restaurant is poor. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the low tariff & its proximity to the Metro & Airport Express . Otherwise its a very low budget hotel .

Room Tip: all the rooms are the same.

I'd stayed here before, a couple of years ago in 2009, and I knew I wanted to stay here again in 2011. We were travelling with our two kids and the Ginger has family rooms at only Rs1400, a shad over the price of a double/twin room for only two people.

Booking the hotel is somewhat a problem, especially if you want to get the best rate for a type of room they've only got a few of, but I kept checking the booking window on the internet, waiting for the day when July dates were available. The day arrived but then I found it's not possible to book a family room on the web, so I had to call Mumbai and book the room. Booking wasn't a problem once we'd got my name across, using a phonetic alphabetic made of Indian cities I knew; slightly frustrating but fun too.

The hotel room was in need of a little attention but it was clean enough, the beds comfortable enough and moreover we knew it, where it was and how to get about; something quite important in a city such as Delhi.

One of advantage of booking a cheaper room is that you don't mind darting off for a night away as we did, to Amritsar. It meant that we left our bags in our hotel room and didn't have to check out/in, but more importantly we didn't have to lump luggage across to the train station, just having a simple stroll over to New Delhi Railway Station for the early morning departure.

It's proximity to the metro station is brilliant, it's literally on top of it and it only takes five minutes before you're at the counter get your tokens for the metro. Brilliant. We used the metro extensively because of this, making travelling around Delhi a breeze.

The only downside to this place is it's lack of a decent restaurant. It's got a cafeteria which is fine for breakfast but not a proper meal. Honestly though it's lack of a restaurant is a great thing as it forces you to venture to wonderplaces like Karim's, Swagath and the like.

I'll definitely come back to Delhi and I'll definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Family rooms are very good value but there's only a few so make sure you book as soon as the boo...

This is one such Hotel I would love to be there again. I went to this hotel when I had to travel to Ganganagar, Rajasthan and my train was delayed by more than 8 hours. This hotel is very near to the Delhi railway station. I have had earlier experiences with Ginger hotels and I knew that this being a Tata chain is reliable and a good one. I took a single room and I was very happy to see the interior. The room was small in size but was very well decorated - nice bathroom, clean and very comfortable bed and a 28 inch LCD. On top of it, food was really awesome specially dal makhani.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise as the area being a railway station area is very noisy and crowded

During my trip to Uttaranchal and back I was transiting in New Delhi and found Ginger (Rail Yatri Niwas) an extremely good Value for Money hotel. We (Family of 4) were booked in a family room(with 4 beds) and the overall expereince was preety good. No Frills but the hotel rooms were clean, clean bed sheets, clean toilets etc. Overall a Value for Money Hotel if you are not expecting any fancy frills.

I felt, this hotel most hygienic hotel in the vicinity of the New Delhi Railway Station. Earlier I had stayed in a cheap hotel with a friend but it was in the interior area. This hotel is visible from the station itself, else it is very easy to locate. You can take a rickshaw ride; it is hardly 200 meters from the railway station. You can enjoy food at multi-cuisine restaurant. This hotel is highly recommended for frequent railway travellers. The heart of Delhi, Connaught Place is very nearby, one can take metro ride till Rajiv Chowk, and enjoy shopping at Connaught Place. The IGI Airport is also just 20 minutes ride by Airport Express from the hotel. The staffs are very decent and helpful. Yes, when you do the online bookings you have to pay Rs. 100 at the reception before check-in.
Apart from LCD TVs, the hotel has GYM, Wi-Fi, self-controlled A/C, Mini-Fridge, Tea and Coffee maker and telephone facility. There are also some added facilities like Doctor on-call and cab services for the convenience of the hotel customers.
This hotel is managed by a well-qualified manager and trained staff, so we can see very high social etiquette among the staff.
The hotel also offers ‘day-use’ stay, for which you need to pay comparatively less charges. This is a unique facility provided by Ginger Hotels to provide comfortable and relaxing stay for those who come to the city to attend one day workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.
Finally, I would like to recommend that this hotel is a good standard hotel both for tourists and business travellers. The facilities are at par with the price and yes, the price is also very competitive. Thus, choosing this hotel would be a good decision because after your stay, you will say yourself “I made a smart decision”
