“Visit Artisans' Mela in Pragati Maidan whenever it comes up”
Review of Pragati Maidan

During our recent visit to Delhi Saras Aajeevika Mela (Artisans' _Mela was going on in Pragati Maidan. Do not miss a chance to visit this event if it comes up anywhere during your Indian visit. Essentially a one stop shopping opportunity for Indian handicrafts from all parts, this exhibition brings together Indian woman artisans from rural areas under one roof and gives them an opportunity to sell their products. Even if you do not shop too much you can have a nice time just browsing the superb artifacts on display and enjoy people watching.

There was a time, when I could walk around the entire place during the day but with passage of time I found it difficult to walk long distances after getting inside the complex. We went to see an exhibition on "Women Empowerment in April, 2017 and were pleasantly surprised to find free e-vehicle ride from gate to the exhibition hall.

In addition to the number of exhibitors, there were free stage shows as well, to keep the environment lively.

Best place for exhibition, huge space, exhibitors has lots of opportunity to promote their products but recent visit at Aahar exhibition has nothing to do much to display for small scale cafe/restaurant. Overall good place.

Pagati maidan is a huge empty area right in the middle of Delhi. This place is very popular because at every given time there is some or other exhibition is going on here. From Delhi book fair to Auto Expo, where all the latest models of cars and bike are showed, happens in Pragati Maidan itself. The real charm of this place gets out during elections when Pragati Maidan becomes the real battleground and all of the ministers have their version of huge rallies and address here.
