Hotels are places to sleep, eat, recharge and generally be used as base from which to explore or go about one's business. This is exactly how my stay at Wood Castle began, however, very quickly, I was overwhelmed by the sense of hospitality and care that all members of staff and in particular the owners, Mr Singh and Mr Kamal take of their guests.
The hotel is in an essentially residential area of Karol Bagh located in a side street off one of the main roads of Karol Bagh. Thankfully one is away from the main market and hence guests do not suffer too much noise disturbance. The beds are comfy, the showers are great and wi fi, tv etc all in good working order. Things that I have come to expect from hotels who achieve such an outstanding ranking on TA.
What completely took me by surprise was the kindness of all staff, Mr Khusal, Deepak and his fellow Bell Boy. All attentive and considerate of their guests and their individual needs, which in my case were considerable as I was travelling with an elderly mother and aunt.
Nothing was too much trouble, particular meals and dishes at any time, opportunities to chat with the owners who invited you to enjoy their reception area which is in fact more akin to a welcoming sitting room in a neighbour's home. My family and I were plied with treats throughout our stay and though the hotel may not have the slickness or full-on amenities of a genuine "5 Star" hotel, the service, people and overall ambience for me will ensure that Wood Castle will always hold a very special place in my thoughts.
Thank you to all who made our stay so comfortable.More
