First trip to India and this place has everything we needed. Took walks at all hours and always felt safe. I will say up front that I prefer not to have a “wet” bathroom, but I’d stay here again without hesitation.

Clean, friendly, excellent food. They will call in a money changer when for your when needed who gives an exchange at a rate about 2% better than at the airport.

Airport pickup was prompt and simple. For us, we were told to ignore the first group of pickup name-signs you always see first exiting customs, but instead to exit the building and the driver was there with a sign. Airport tip- Do not let anyone touch your bag other than your driver. Well dressed and authoritative-looking touts like to help you with your bags, wait with you for the car to be brought up, and then try to insist on a US$5 tip!

This is a great location as it's just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown but still a central enough location on a quiet street. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We've even booked to stay back there when we return in a few days. The bed is the most comfy I've had in India.

The Karol Bagh area has an fun marketplace, with a main strip that’s commercial, as well as side alleyways that are much more local.

Wood Castle is a clean, nice hotel walking distance from the main part of Karol Banh. It’s not on a main road and our driver couldn’t fit in this alleyway, but we just had to walk 5-10 minutes to reach the market.

The owner is very friendly, and the service here is good (they came up to our room quickly anytime we called with issues). Rooms were as expected from the photographs. They brought us a kettle of chai, a tea set, and cookies for when we checked in.

The room comes with breakfast, which we ordered the night before. It was ready on time, and the Aloo Paratha and Puri Bhaji were not bad. Get the Puri Bhaji if you have a choice though!

I stayed 2 nights at the Wood Castle while travelling solo to see the Taj Mahal. The staff was very helpful and always available. The room was very nice and hot water was not a problem. They even let me know I got ripped off by the airport taxi company and booked me a taxi for half the price I had on the way there. They also helped keep in touch with my driver that was picking me up for my day trip to the hotel.

My only complaint was a guy that seemed to be hanging out in the lounge and seemed a bit creepy. I couldn't tell if he worked there or not and was asking me alot of questions about the day trip I booked, as if he were trying to sell me a better one.

This is a jewel of an hotel at twice the price. The small street that it is on may disturb some, but it is fine. Yes barking dogs, but deal them as you should, bend down like you are picking up a rock and they will high-tail it. Anyway, the manager, Mr. Khushal is a saint. I was quite sick and directed us to one of the best hospitals in Delhi, arranged cabs for us, and prayed for me. The rooms are clean and attractive and the food they serve (room service only) is very good and a very good. Would chose again.
