“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

We stayed at this hotel because of location and reviews. We were very happy with the service and the rooms were nice. Make sure you get the breakfast included. We ate there all three nights since we were nervous about getting sick and the food in the restaurants were great. However the prices at the restaurants are high due to taxes and the minibar is ridiculous. Bring your own bottle and just pay for mixers. Other friends stayed at lesser hotels and thought they were horrible.

The Chinese and Indian restaurant were both fantastic.

My wife and I stayed at the hyatt for 3 days beginning of september as part of a Northern India tour.Altbarhough nothing to look at from the outside once inside you find everything you would expect of a 5 star hotel. The staff were courteous and friendly without exception and there was plenty of choice of places to eat - chinese -indian-italian ( our favourite) plus a great place on the balcony for afternoon tea right next to the the bar selling all sorts of chocolate goodies.

The room was fine for a major city hotel - not huge but certainly ok. the glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom area was unusual but in no way obtrusive.

Yes the prices were not cheap - not so bad for the food but drinks were expensive - especially the wine. For impoted wine you are looking at 60 pounds sterling per bottle after tax and even the local stuff you are looking at £45 and upwards. Mind you the price of wine seemed to be very expensive wherever we stayed in india usually Trident or Taj hotels. Strangely scotch seemed quite reasonable - perhaps because it's apparently a favourite tipple of the indians?
Needless to say i mainly kept to beer during our stay which as a wine drinker meant I actually lost 7 pounds by the endof our 3 week trip!
however should I find myself in Delhi again I would not hesitate to stay at the Hyatt.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for none smoking room - I had to be moved from a smoking room of which there are a...

what i really liked at this hotel? food and pool!
one of the best italian, tepiniyaki and chinese restaurants in town and day time coffee shop has the best croissants and coffee. the room was a bit small but comfortable. the building itself doesn't look nice from outside as its too old but it looks much better from the inside. the service and stuff is polite. the pool is nice but due to construction happening outside that was a lot of nice while i was sunbathing outside. the prices are quite high but comparing to other 5 star hotels in Delhi even though this one is old but it has best restaurants. the gym in the hotel is too small but women changing room is amazing. Its big has all necessary facilities and very comfortable.

YOu would think that paying over £200 p/n would equal to superior quality of amenties and service...the premium you are paying for is the location in Delhi. This hotel needs to learn a lot from the Hyatt in Goa, althougth their target market is different...you are still paying for an inferior room/service. The hotel rooms resemble to a Premier Inn/Quality Inn (budget hotel in the UK). There is no wow factor in any of the rooms. I have stayed here twice and have been disappointed both times.
The hotel holds the ordinary business traveller to ransom on its costly hotel, bar and food prices...Paying £40 for a pizza and a plate of pasta is down right outrageous! India is out pricing itself...its not a destination that makes you want to spend your bucks but resent how much you pay.

Room Tip: Avoid staying in Delhi unless you enjoy paying through the nose......

This is a comfortable and well located hotel--not too far from key shopping areas and not too fart from the airport either. Some of the restaurants--the Chinese, the Indian serve really great food and do have truly impeccable service. The staff are polite and do their best to help but...

1) If you have a room on the poolside be warned there is some construction activity going on that can keep you awake through the night, especially with their lights. In contrast rooms on the higher floors on the road facing side are better.
2) Internet usage is not typically complimentary
3) Breakfast is complimentary only if you have specifically got it in your package
4) Airport Pick-up & drop -offs are very expensive--you're probably better off using a city cab, they're reliable and reasonable, especially if they are metered cabs
5) The room rates vary widely between seasons, sometimes a little unreasonably ( upto 60% differential, regardless of occupancy) and some rooms have awful views of the office buildings close by.

Overall, if you can get a clear deal, the hotel is worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for road facing rooms on higher floors, check you hotel package clearly

This is retreat in a busy city.

The service is attentive and flawless. Everyone goes out of their way to ensure satisfaction.

Better than the Hyatt's in the US.

Room Tip: Get a package that includes breakfast. Worth the money!
