This 3 star hotel is owned by the Government. So you know what to expect. Despite this I was shocked at the dysfunctional state of affairs - everything seemed worn out and dilapidated. Thankfully the spacious room was fairly comfortable, although I have a sneaking suspicion that it was one of the better rooms. The plumbing did not work and the breakfast was sub par - a roadside dhaba could have done better! I felt sorry for the staff who were trying their best to put a good face on things! Only reason to stay here was the competitive rate on offer and the superbrilliant location. Since you could do better with an OYO room, best to stay away.

Room Tip: Check the plumbing (esp the shower) when you check in!

It must have been one of the glitziest, shiniest hotels on the strip in a bygone era. It has an old world feel to it with lots of wood panelling & large, spacious rooms where today, glass and chrome are the standard. It's great value for money as it's reasonably priced for the Connaught Place area and is close to restaurants, shopping as well as sight-seeing landmarks - Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate etc.

But it looks and feels tired. The wi-fi is free but works like a dial-up. The only time it picks up speed is when you complain to the reception & then goes back to its old ways in less than 15 mins. Of the two days I stayed there, one day was a total washout as far as connectivity is concerned. The fixtures in the bathroom needed a complete overhaul, it simply did not match the comfort of the room itself. The staff are helpful and try hard to fix things (not always successfully) but that is probably the best they can do. It's upto the management - ITDC - to really figure this out i.e. if they want to offer their guests a better experience.

The Hotel is old property but has huge space for rooms, passage and Bathroom-size is equivalent to a room.

Breakfast is average with average taste.

Room Service and overall hotel service is awesome but it seems to be a government runned hotel for big tycoons.

One can opt for this hotel as it has good ambience, lighting and space. Not to miss WiFi speed is awesome.

Room Tip: Take Room with Bath Tub!

We were a party of 6 including 2 kids and stayed in 2 rooms.

What is good: Nice building, spacious rooms.

What is not so good: No hot water on the first night, but started working after 4 calls to housekeeping. Required multiple calls to get extra towels. Failed to get adjacent rooms despite booking several weeks in advance; the staff claimed that all rooms were taken, but we hardly saw any other guests. The air conditioning seemed decades old, and cooled only a quarter of the room. The hallways were sweltering, with only one out of four vents seeming to work. A hallway of that length needs at least a dozen vents. The WiFi was free but required a separate user ID and password for each device. The connection was very slow even at 3 in the morning. The staff said the room had 2 queen beds, but the beds turned out to be twin sized instead. We requested the concierge to arrange for a large taxi, but we ended up having to make the calls and find the taxis ourselves. The check-in process was tedious and bureaucratic. After this experience, we would never stay here or at any government affiliated hotel again.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel.

Palace - Truly a great hotel. Huge proportions - massive halls, staircase, rooms. A reminder of by-gone era but here you can still live it and be treated to true luxury. Few hotels as impressive from an architectural point of view. Service was excellent, staff were extremely friendly and professional; nothing was an issue or problem ...what a relief to find an hotel where guests are still treated as guests.
