We Reached the Oaktree House ,shimla after a comfortable drive up from Chandigarh in the evening, it was raining and there was mist in the air .Varun the manager guided us the way on the phone and received us with a smile . A quaint little hotel with a very English interior we my husband and son were provided with a room which had a large veranda overlooking the valley. The food had limited choices but was fresh and yummy!!
The hotel provided us with a free pick and drop to Auckland (nearest point to the mall road) Value for money is what we got.We also had dinner at the near by Radisson Hotel which is walking distance.. good food there as well. Thankyou Oaktree for a wonderfull weekend .

We were a group of 20 people who visited the Oaktree Housein July,2018.The experience was simply fabulous. Some in our group were ver apprehensive as their expierence was mainly highend hotels and they were not sure about the ability of a small resort matching those standards, but on recommendation of Mr.Walia (owner of Mahasu House, mashobra)we booked the entire Oaktree House,Simla... and yes...we were all more than Happy to be there.

The rooms were par excellent and well maintained. No cookie cut expierence here .The icing on the cake was the service and home style food . The staff was alive to all requests and went out of their way to ensure that all our requirements were met , especially pooja and Deepram . The weather and the food ensured an experience to remember and we are sure going to be back for more.Thankyou Oaktree House for a wonderful holiday.

Pros: Staff, rooms, cleanliness, great views.
Cons:
(1) Not as close as claimed to the ridge, although reception will drive you half the way for inr200 (rip-off).
(2) They do not do twin beds, not even if you specifically request them in advance.
(3) Don't expect anything vaguely western for breakfast. The staff tried, but I expected far more for the tariff - the choice was lamentable.
(4) Whilst the staff were lovely the hotel really needs someone with a good grasp of English - resolving even basic queries like a non-functioning a/c was a mission.

Tina and Anil Walia have done it yet again!! With their impeccable taste and out-of-this-world style, they have created yet another Paradise, this time just 15 minutes away from the Mall.

I am already a big fan of Mahasu House at Mashobra and this property too matches that one in terms of the beautiful rooms, the perfect staff and the facilities....Every room is curated to perfection and even the food is awesome.

There is nowhere else I will ever stay in Simla; thanks Tina and Anil for the enjoyable one night here with my family - just wish I could have stayed longer!!!
