Post college binge hangout with the Bestie!
Excellent place for people watching and wedding out the phoney from the art snobs (if that's something up your ally)

While you're at it, wash down their excellent vindaloo with some beer or have a make-belief high tea session with their die for sandwiches.. also pot tea is worth the work, if You're really going down the British way!

Thank Aks R

This is one of my best hangout place. I just love everything about this place. I am really sad to know that they are shutting down on 31st March for good. I will always remeber the Kheema Paratha, Boti Roll, Chicken Sandwitch n Guava Juice.

If you're lucky you'll be able to make it to Samovar, after standing in a queue for over half an hour. But that's only till the 31st of March cos they're closing down. This little place has had a good run of 50 years or so.
It started in a corridor of the Jehangir Art Gallery, as a place to serve tea. Gradually they started including other items and eventually became a full-fledged restaurant.
I'll miss the quirky ambience, their juices (aam panna and guava) and their kebab rolls. Their mutton cutlets lunch and biryanis are pretty good too. This place is not exactly inexpensive but the food is pretty good.
Goodbye Samovar.

Quaint, pleasant view overlooking the museum on one side & amazing food. It is a very different place with an ambiance & lighting that looks like the 80's . Just loved the kheema paratha& chicken roll.

Cafe Samovar is one of the oldest eatery in Mumbai. It is located inside the famous Jahangir Art Gallery. This cafe was visited by many famous Indian fine artists for discussion and for the growth of Art. Even today this place is visited by many people.
Try out the Roti Boti Roll & Chicken vindaloo roll its my favourite.
Over all a nice artistic place to visit and easy on the wallet too.
(There is a news that this priceless place is going to shut down :(
so visit it before it shuts.
