Taftoon is a restaurant alert at Bandra kurla complex .It opened its green door in November 2017.Its been 3 months now and this place is already created a niche name for itself.The interior theme is based on Undivided (Akhanda) India Concept which refers to the days when Pakistan and Bangladesh were part of India.
Taftoon refers to a leavened flour bread .This place takes you on an amazing gastronomic experience of cuisines through Grand Truck Road.
Taftoon serves lipsmacking Afghani,Pakistani,Punjabi,Lucknowi,Bengali and Bangladeshi cuisines.A special mention for their Robata grill,Tandoor section & their clay oven section where most of their live starters are prepared and served.
Coming to the variety of dishes i tried here
Kashmiri kahwa-A welcome drink served at Taftoon.This is a traditional popular green tea of Kashmir and Pakistan.It had a nice flavour of almond and honey taste in it.
Mocktails-I tried 3 mocktails
Dates and pineapple sherbat -This is unique .Dates used in preparation mocktail is a wow idea.Tasted nice
Hibiscus Ice tea -Cold ice tea made as infusion from magenta calyces of flower with cranberry and honey added to it .My personal favourite of 3 mocktails i tried here
Cold Orange kahwa -Cold version of kahwa.Decent and refreshing drink
Palak bhalla papdi -A famous chaat (Northindian style)..This was with spinach and urad dumpling with chutney and dahi on top.Tangy and tasty
Gucci and mushroom Harrisa -This is Taftoon bread speciality coming from their clay oven section.A signature dish of Taftoon and highly recommended dish by me .Gucci and mushroom mixed well and served on taftoon bread ..Eating their taftoon bread is an experience in itself.Extremely soft .Brilliant preparation
Moochar cutlet -This dish is a Bengali speciality dish .Mashed banana served in form of cutlet and special mention for the mustard sauce served along with it.I simply loved it
Chotey kulchey Chole -This is Pakistani punjabi speciality dish..Kulche made from white flour (tandoor preparation) and stuffed with potato,spices and served with carrot pickle and onions.Mouthwatering
Bhuney mushroom Shish -Button mushroom,pepper and zucchini used in preparation of this dish.This is served along with their Afghani salad (salata)
Soya ki chaap -A rich Preparation from soya bean.This is charcoal grilled preparation.A royal Ludhianavi dish.
Bharwaan kadhai -A nice comfort maincourse.Lentil,brinjal,okra and spices used in preparation of this tasty sabzi .Prepared in onion and tomato gravy.
Kofta Al Yakhni -Rich preparation in Lauki .A master kashmiri preparation .I loved it
Maa choliya ki daal -Bangladeshi speciality .Creamy,warm and tasty

Baquerkhani-A Bangladeshi/kashmiri speciality bread.A little sweet in taste.
Rampuri paratha -Delhi speciality.A whole multi layer bread perfectly baked in Tandoor
Lal naan -My favourite of all roti.This was bit spicy and had chilli,seasame seeds on naan.Red in colour.Do try it out
Kaju kulfi -A refreshing summer dessert.A perfect way to cool tastebud with this flavourful kaju kulfi
Shufta -Extremely unique dessert.Mango ice cream served with honey and gulkand ..A kashmiri dessert .The dry fruits used in it are from Kashmir.
Not to be missed .Amazing dessert
Overall i had an amazing dining experience at Taftoon.The best part about this place being everything is freshly and inhouse prepared.Natural ingredients are used and its not at all heavy on digestion.The food is stomach friendly!!!
