The Rambagh palace is probably one of the best hotel in India. The palace is gorgeous and very well maintain. Which is probably not easy with all the pigeons around.
Set in a lovely park with plenty of peacocks, and birds.
We even had the chance to watch a parade of painted elephants, camels, horses.
The service is the best you can get.
Taj heritage hotels really know how to do it, the standard is very high.
The restaurants serve a delicious cuisine in sumptuous decor

India, land of sounds, smells, sensory overload. Well, this hotels is the opposite. Perfect marble, polished staff at your service. But totally uninteresting. No atmosphere. Impeccably cut grass, shiny door handles... you could be anywhere in the world...not a place that leaves memories.
I don't think a place is wonderful because they have tens of employees or because there's not a single scratch anywhere. It should convey a feeling, a image...money cannot replace fantasy.

This Is a truly lovely property. The grounds isolate the place from the hustle and bustle of city life outside and provide a welcome relief at the end of an exhausting day of site seeing.
Their staff are the tops and know just how to make your stay perfect without overwhelming you with fussy attention.

We found their WiFi charges somewhat bewildering, if all guests sign up to use it they make more money from that facility alone than anything else very disappointing .

Food was excellent and we found the Indian wine decent (compared to offerings from more well known countries) and well priced.

We'll definitely be back.

I had stayed at this amazing maraja residence exactly 18 years ago and going back this April 2012 i was happy to see that it has preserved its fascination, its manicured lawns, impeccable service plus the west wing has been completely renovated. This is one of the few hotels in the world where i never managed to open a door as the attentive staff is always ready to help you. The grounds are extensive and infuse a sense of relax and tranquillity in juxtaposition to the chaos of the city outside the gate. Ask to tour the premises with one of the antique cars once owned by the maraja of jaipur in order to visit also the back of the palace and the pool area. An interesting old steam train is located at the entrance and now used as a restaurant. The shops on premise all have top quality products as the famous Gem Palace or the pashmina shop. Breakfast at the polo bar offers a wide range of food both indian and european. Overall this heritage hotel is a magical experience, especially having read the memories if the former maharani Gayatri Devi ( you can buy the book "a princess remembers" in the bookshop at the first floor) . I also very much enjoyed the video realized by Taj group on their palaces and residence which is played in the hotel channel on tv. A palace not to be missed as it reflects the true essence of the Jaipur of the marajas.

As the name connotes, it is a palace and you are treated almost like royalty. The hotel grounds are exquisite and if you stay there, take the tour at 6pm as it is very interesting and adds to the stay. The staff are very attentive but, frankly, no more than in some other 5 star hotels in which we have stayed ---hotels which have had cheaper rates and certainly much cheaper dining facilities. Add on the very high Indian taxes and your stay is expensive even from a North American perspective.

The room in which we stayed had heavy drapes which shut the light out. The hotel's grounds are extensive so it is very quiet. The result was we had a very good night's sleep

This hotel came highly recommended but, if I was to do it again, I would do some comparison shopping as Jaipur has some very good hotels.

As another reviewer mentioned, try the homemade ginger ale. It is really good.

An amazing palace in the middle of a bustling city, the Rambaugh is a stunning piece of architecture and should not be missed on any visit to India. After a cold drink and cold towel welcome, we were taken to our room to complete the check in process. Imagine our surprise when we were upgraded to a suite, complete with foyer, a 20 foot domed ceiling and sweeping views of the gardens from the floor to ceiling windows. Top it off with a huge marble bathroom and walk in closet and we never wanted to leave our room. However, we did have to leave and enjoy the sights that Jaipur had to offer. After a long day running around town, we did manage to escape for a few hours to the pool, enjoying the showdown between the pigeons and the man with the flag, whose job it was to keep the pigeons away the pool. Quite entertaining… Also, don’t miss the bar and lighter fare in the actual royal train that is now a restaurant on the property.
