“Absolutely one of the best in the world!”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

I stayed for three nights at the Oberoi Rajvilas in one of their tented suite properties and it was one of the best hotel experiences of my life! The level of service is unparalleled, the hotel is beautiful and quiet like a perfect oasis from the chaotic Indian traffic and cities.
The food at the restaurant, whether you are sampling Indian cuisine or you prefer staying with a continental menu, is delicious and everyone goes out of their way to make the guest feel at home. A book left on the bed is put on the night table after turndown service with a book mark in it to make sure one does not lose track....little things but these are the marks of great service and great hospitality!

Room Tip: I loved the rooms/suites that look like camp tents!

A lovely place , after a busy day of sight seeing and shopping. The rooms are well maintained, beautifully appointed, well equipped and very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The offer to clean our shoes after a day of touring in the dust ground and they came back looking great.

We had room service which was well serviced and the food was good. It was served nice and warm, despite the cold weather outside. Its shows that they pay attention to details. Breakfast buffet was simple but the supplement order was extensive and creative. The staff recommended an India dish for breakfast which was perfect.

It was a lovely stay.

This property is beyond amazing. The grounds are immaculately maintained. Loved the abundance of peacocks around strutting their stuff. The service was perfect. The restaurant went above and beyond to make our meals enjoyable. We celebrated our anniversary here and they brought the musician outside to play just for us. They decorated our table for our anniversary table. We were treated like kings and queens the entire time. Our suite of rooms was amazing. Beautiful, large rooms that had separate doors but a hallway with a door to outside that you can lock so you can leave your doors unlocked. THe spa was heavenly. We did the couples massages. It was wonderful! We played golf on the grounds- not putt putt but like mini golf. Fun for the kids. They gave the kids teddy bears on their last night with turbans similar to what the staff wears. Oh, I would love to go back here!!!

Dear Guest,
We are immensely happy to know that you not only had a wonderful vacation with your family but also a very memorable anniversary. We also are thrilled to know that you took time out to enjoy the services of the hotel from the busy schedule of site seeing and shopping.
The flora and fauna at our resort opens its arms to all the exhausted guests who love the singing of the beautiful birds and a fresh breath of air after a long day in the city.
The team is grateful for such a wonderful review and are happy to know that our little guests also enjoyed their stay. We hope the teddy bears with the turbans are a fond remembrance of their stay at The Oberoi Rajvilas!
We would love to have you back again staying with us for yet another perfect holiday.
Thank You

The hotel is built over a expansive area and being outside the city gives you the much wanted calm and quiet you need out of a holiday. The grounds are extremely well maintained and the public areas are very well done up eg. pool , gardens, restaurants etc. There are many peacocks and other birds roaming around which gives you a very out of this world feeling.

The service level was very high and they were very courteous and efficient. There is a nice story telling session at the bar and a buggy ride for guests in the afternoon. Spa services were very good and I used them twice during my 2 night stay.

Food was great although I felt that the menu could use more variety. Also I felt a Rajasthani folk dance act could liven up the evening meal( they have some live music)

Tents are very nice and authentic , we couldn't get them because they were sold out and had to settle for a room. Rooms are also nice and spacious.

They did a special dinner set up for us between the pool and the temple to celebrate our special occasion. The setting was magical with diyas , a table for two and background music. The person attending on us never left our side and it was personalization to the next level. It was a very memorable experience ,so kudos to the hotel for such a set up!

Hotel is not very far from tourist sites( approx 20 mins drive gets you into the city). Although I suggest do throughly enjoy the hotel also other than doing sight seeing.

Room Tip: Try the tent , nice setting.

After having problems with oberoi Delhi this location brought us back to really enjoying this hotel group. Wonderful manager nice attentive staff and the rooms are amazing. The pool is nice and big and is well kept and the cleaniliness, was good and the waiters would have been five star except for one small fight between staff we witnessed. This occurred in Delhi to a much greater degree and as a note oberoi, staff disputes should be done behind closed doors.

We stayed here on the last leg of our trip through the Golden Triangle. The grounds/property were so beautiful they blew me away. And the service was above and beyond!
Expect to see peacocks and other birds wandering around - right outside your window and as you stroll to the lobby/restaurants from your room.
The food were excellent as was the concierge and all the staff. My husband even forgot a few items here and they couriered them to us at our hotel in Mumbai with no questions asked!
I would definitely recommend this property to anyone going to Jaipur. It is so relaxing and serene. It may be outside the city, but it is worth the drive in for sites and dinners.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for an amazing review. We are overjoyed to know that you had a great stay at our resort. Rajvilas is a humble abode not only for our guests but also for the beautiful birds especially the migratory birds that are frequent visitors during the winters.
The Chef, concierge team and all the staff are extremely happy and appreciative that you liked their food and services. Our little oasis though away from the city is always a welcoming retreat for all the exhausted guests that enjoy the sightseeing and shopping throughout the busy day.
We wish to welcome you back for yet another relaxing stay with us.
Thank you.

Do not upgrade to the luxury tent. It isn't really a tent anyways. The noise is pretty bad with a tented room. So much so that the hotel supplies ear plugs to the guests staying in the luxury tents. Stick to the premier room. You will sleep better.

Dear Guest,

Its is saddening that our Luxury Tents that have an area of approximately 45 square meters and are surrounded by a private garden could not charm you. We agree that our Luxury Tents are not the actual kind of tents one would see in a desert. Our Luxury tents have spacious, beautifully appointed interiors with block printed, hand embroidered fabrics and teak wood flooring along with a bathroom with double vanity counter, a colonial style free-standing, claw footed bathtub and separate shower that one may not find in a regular tent. To add to the luxury of the tents it has a private terrace and garden around the perimeter which are surrounded by traditional Rajasthani mud walls.

We also accept the Luxry Tents are not sound proof due to the canopy. And since the birds that nest in our little oasis sing out loud early in the morning, we have placed two sets of earplugs to avoid an inconvenience for late risers.

Hence we always keep a standby premier room for our sound sensitive guests should they wish to have a sound sleep, which is always ready should we get a request anytime of the day or night.

If your travels ever take you to any Oberoi Hotel and resort in any destination we serve, we would spare no efforts to ensure that your faith in Oberoi Hotels is restored.

Thank You
