A fantastic hotel! The staff were great! Loved the ambience and the rooms! The food was great too. Really felt pampered and loved! Will highly recommend this hotel!!!! In fact if visiting Chennai, do try this hotel, you will never regret it.

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Chennai for a night on our way to Pondicherry- we had an amazing experience and loved it so much we didn't leave the hotel! Drinks at the steam whistle were excellent and had an amazing dinner at the local al a carte restaurant. I thought the staff were super helpful all the time. This was highlighted when a concierge member saw me struggling on my phone to talk to a local taxi driver organising a ride, he quickly intervened and spoke Tamil to him on behalf which meant there were no miscommunications! We would have no hesitations in staying again if we were back in Chennai! Well done!

Hotel has been refurbished recently.. well maintained.. spacious room.. service is good and prompt.. breakfast spread is okay.. desserts in breakfast is very good and good options... hotel is centrally located near the market. So alot other options for food and shopping..

The hotel friendly and ever ready staff coupled with very nice decor, really makes it Grand.
The lobby has cozy seating and has a coffee shop that serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with really large variety of food dishes. There is also another restaurant where you can eat according to your individual choice. Here too, the food quality and quantity is grand.
The rooms are very nicely decorated with modern fittings. Even a calf massager in the room to relax tired muscles. Choice of remote controlled ambient lighting is great too.
The shopping area is around too with Pondy bazar just 10 minutes walk.
Overall, a grand place for a short stay

I stayed for one night at the Grand hotel and must say that the room, shower and bed were high quality. Rooms were clean and the rain shower was a pleasure. I mean, that every room has a view over chennai city and the floors are connected by two really nice lifts. Problems were made by the unfriendly and naughty staff only. What ever happened, the very young staff has no professional behaviour and appearance, what is not usual for a hotel in this price classification. At breakfast, we got a little table without any cutlery, jams, salt pepper etc. what was provided to all other tables. Asking for it was meaningless but breakfast at all was good. Finally I would say, nice hotel, ultra comfortable bed and shower but staff absolutely not educated regarding the price we paid. Average hotel.
