We stayed here over the easter holidays and found it to be a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. With a young child in mind and disabled grandparents also, we went with some trepidation, especially after reading some reviews on this website! The hotel was fantastically clean, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and they took the job of our holiday very seriously. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the food was very varied and exceptionally good and, if our 7 year old or our 70 year old wanted something that wasn't on the menu or was on the menu of one of the other restaurants then the staff went out of there way to oblige. We found that a polite request and a thankyou went a long way. The facilities were varied and the staff enthusiastic in their work.As for the "expensive food and drink" what do you expect! It is a 4/5 star hotel. Ok so it costs more than the outside world of the hotel but that is true of anywhere in the world. By UK standards the pricing was reasonable, yes by Indian standards it was expensive(I have travelled widely in India) but if you are booking luxury then please, expect to pay for it! For disable visitors(and those who do not enjoy the walk back to there room!!!) a free "taxi" service is supplied in the form of very smart golf type buggies driven mostly it would appear by the hotel management staff and always with a smile and good manners. The grounds are mostly on the level. Overall we had an excellant two weks spoilt only on a couple of occassions by the bad manners and attitude of some of the other guests who obviously thought that as they had paid to be there they could be as rude to the staff as they liked. We are looking into going back next year we enjoyed it so much.
