Perfect location, just a few minutes walk from Jonker Street and the Christ Church area. Howard, the owner, was an excellent host who introduced everyone and organized dinner/bike tours for his guests nearly every afternoon.

Stayed in double A/C room with my brother. It was a bit old, but decorated nicely. The WiFi is fast and always available. Bathroom was a bit musty, but we brought our own towels and plastic slippers so it wasn't anything we couldn't deal with.

The laid back atmosphere is the biggest draw, and you'd be hard pressed not to meet new people. I'd definitely stay here again.

Room tip: An A/C room is heaven after a day of walking around Melaka.

We stayed here for three nights in a double room. What I really liked about this place is how it's the perfect place to meet people. Howard the owner aims to make everyone feel like family and tries to Bring people together. During our stay he brought us, and anyone else who wanted to, on cycles around the town, to a Market and then to dinner. Also, the hostel was clean, had AC, self catering kitchen and a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it. Especially if you want to meet other travellers

Howard, the hotel manager, is very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about local eats and things to do. The hostel's been up and running for 6 years, for good reason. It's not perfectly spotless, not all rooms have a/c, but not all hostels have such a cool guy running it, a rooftop hangout, several lounges, bbq, and drinks. If you choose to stay here, you'll find it's a great meeting place for open minded backpackers.

Room tip: If you can't handle the heat, get a room with a/c.

We had a great 5 night stay at Ringos. When we first arrived we were a little unsure as the place is quite big with rooms scattered around but this feeling quickly went as we started talking to the owner Howard. He really makes you feel at home and you couldn't ask for a more laid back guy or place to stay. We loved the trips out for dinner, especially the first night as we all took bikes out and rode around the town. Theres hundreds of movies to watch when you get back (or whenever the mood takes you to watch a movie) as well.
