Two weeks ago we went to Malacca again to de-stress over the weekend. Usually we stay in another hotel but this time round, we decided to try other cheaper hotels and so we chose New Regal Hotel as it cost only RM45 per night and the location is in the town centre.
As there were no pictures of the room facilities, we chose purely based on the description given on the Internet. When we reached there, we were first shocked by the car park behind the hotel. The car park's floor is uneven and muddy and it is not sheltered.
The room gave a very cold feeling when we first stepped in as the floor is not carpeted, and there are some cracks in the ceiling. The bathroom tiled walls and bathtub re very dirty and looked like they haven't been cleaned for years. The toilet bowl has plenty of crack lines on it. The cupboard looked like it hasn't been used in years.
A hot water flask is provided but you can only fill it with the hot water that is provided near the lift lobby outside the room. Towels are also provided but they are old, thin and torn.
Nevertheless, the room is quite clean, the air-conditioner is new and the heater in the bathroom is working fine.
For the price we paid, we can't really complain much at the end of the day. If you are looking for a warm hotel room to go back to at the end of the day, this is not the one for you.
