We went on a Sat and checked in swiftly.Small hiccups as they provided us a 2 single beds instead of a queen size bedroom. They managed to changed room asap without much issue. Our deluxe room is clean & spacious.Poolside with awesome view & children's play area just nearby. At night we cycled by the riverside to Jonker Street and nearby landmarks.I am a light sleeper and I slept like a baby.Bathroom space was a bit squeezy but acceptable.Breakfast was good enough for us.Thumbs up to all the staff as they were very helpful and smiley most of the time.Checked out within 5 mins as well. Will certainly recommend this place to my friends.Keep up the good attitude!

Check in 7 Nov - Check out 10 Nov 2015. I am a travel agent from Singapore and i have travelled to many destinations. I would HIGHLY recommend The Pines Hotel Melaka. The design of the hotel is very up to date and trendy. The rooms are spacious. The pool is huge. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Shuttle service to town is provided. There is a good spread of breakfast.

Hotel facilities are great, being newly opened hotel. Rooms are spacious (larger than normal hotel rooms) and very well furnished. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable as well. However there is a lack of staff training especially at front desk and restaurant. We arrived at the hotel at 1600hrs and proceeded to check in. Male staff attended to us but he looked like he wasn't sure what was going on. After 15 minutes, the front desk manager came and took over from him. She redid everything he did (even rewrote the WiFi password on our room key card envelope as his writing was terrible) and we were off to our room in about 2 minutes after that. Next morning, we got up early for breakfast at 7, surprised to find that breakfast was not ready. Food was partially out, coffee machine wasn't turned on, omelette bar still closed. No kitchen/restaurant staff was around despite us calling the kitchen. We had to ask the front desk team to help get the kitchen staff to prepare. We waited for 20 minutes for them to get the basic food out and we left. The entire time there was no one who attended to us (not even to collect food voucher) so it was pretty much a self service. Overall, there's still a lot for the staff to learn to truly claim being a 4* hotel.

This hotel is very new. The smell of varnish and glue, chemicals from the cement bothered me. Especially in the lift. That was in our faces; first impression.

We couldnt enter the hotel from 1B cause the door was jammed. We mentioned it to staff and they took care of it immediately. We had a problem with our bathroom sink and they arrived immediately. Service is good.

The rooms are very large. Good for families. But the floor to ceiling windows worry me; safety concerns for kids. Everything was very clean. The carpets in the hallway were fresh.

The little kitchen provided, doesnt have a microwave. Just a counter, sink and small fridge. No cutlery, plates or anything. Bring your own if needed.

One important tip, the hotel room doors are self closing. But you need to double check; our door never latches. Closes; but doesnt lock, without pulling a second time.

The room card only allows you to access your floor level, the swimming pool level, the parking level and ground floor. You cant access other guest floors. I like that safety feature.

We had a good stay here. You will too.

Dear Valued Guest,

We appreciate your comment on the hotel and we are glad that you have enjoyed most of the aspect of your recent stay. We have improved on our sensory system in the public areas to ensure the hotel lobby are kept smelling fresh the whole day.

The safety aspect with regards to the door latch and closure has also been look into and will be improve in the near future. We will also review the request for chinaware and cutleries in the room and advise in the future on this request.

Thank you again for your support and we hope to see you again in the near future.

First, when we check in at this hotel it took almost 1 hour because our room is not ready ye at 3.30 pm. We had to wait for 45 mins after a long queue to check in.

Second, The room is spacious & clean, no complaint. The day view is nice and the night view is really amazing! Breakfast is fantastic, my son enjoyed the chicken porridge :) the variety of the food is acceptable.

We enjoyed our stay here, I'll definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floor room

Dear Mrs Halia,

Thank you for your comment and we are pleased that you have enjoyed your stay with us. While we try to have all our rooms ready for arrival by 3pm everyday, certain rooms with late departure by our previous guests especially on weekend will encounter some delays as our housekeeping associates are doing the turnover.

We appreciate your understanding on this matter and we look forward to your return stay soon.

Thank you and warm regards,
