This hotel has a great location and very helpful staff. We stayed here prior to our cruise and enjoyed every minute. It was an easy walk to shopping at Nanjang Road and the staff also arranged taxi service to other tourist locations in Shanghai. You can't go wrong staying at this hotel.

Is very handy for Nanjang road for shopping the Metro is very close and is easy to use once you press the English button in the top right hand corner...although people were very helpful.

Breakfast was of a good standard ..staff were pleasent and helpful only down fall was the stained and dirty carpet thank goodness they supply slippers.

It's a shame a so nice and competent international hotel offers so few pictures of it in its site. There is nothing to be afraid of! The hotel is just perfect and the services provided are great! For the experienced traveller and for the newbie, this is the spot!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the river. It's awesome!

Stayed here last December and booked 2 rooms for 4nights. We were upgraded to the executive floor on level 18th. Honestly I was surprised that the room was not bad at all, actually it was even better than the other club floor rooms on Singapore and its even double the size. The bathroom is made from classic European looking marbles with full length mirrors it even has separate tub and shower. There was no balcony in the room but the room offers 2 ledge on both huge size windows for seating and lounging and the views are just great. It's insane not to book this room, really good value for your money. If you're staying for leisure book this hotel. If you're in for business you might want to try other 5 star hotels. This is not you're perfect 4 star hotel when it comes to facilities outside the room like the lobby lounge, business center or restaurants. But when it comes to the executive rooms now this is a gem! If you just need a great room but don't fuss too much about the facilities this is for you. Location wise it's 2 blocks from Nanjing road and around 4blocks to the Bund. The staff speaks English here but don't expect a slang. Check-out booking.com for great deals.

Room Tip: Be nice to the front desk people and nicely ask for an upgrade. So far I always get upgraded anywhere I stay by just being nice.

This well positioned large hotel was disapointing for a number of reason, as we just expected better from this famous hotel.
The mean reasons for disappointment was as follows...
Dirty carpet.
Toilet flush didn't work properly for the whole three days we were there.
Rooms just average, nothing like as seen on the internet site, but did have a great view.
Internet in rooms cost US $10 per hour / max charge $15 broken down after first night and after repeated attemps to get it fixed it just never happend.
A 35 second phone call to Australia cost US $8.00
