As others have indicated, this hotel keeps their central air conditioning system set to a tropical 30+ degrees Celsius. That's 86 degrees Fahrenheit. So, unless you like trying to sleep in the tropical heat of an Amazonian jungle I'd highly recommend that you look elsewhere for accommodation.
When attempting to seek reprieve from the heat, the front desk simply offered a fan. All that did was double as a hairdryer as I tried to sleep. Don't even attempt to use the wall-mounted teaser (thermostat control) it simply increases the heat output regardless of selected temperature, unless you selected 35 degrees of course, then it works as advertised.

Room Tip: No good rooms in winter due to the excessive heat pumped into rooms

You reach this hotel with line 2 +6 from pudung airport in 40 minutes. Nice, clean with a close commercial area. Nothing to say. Aligned with 4# hotel in the area. Good restaurant open 24h. Remember to put do not disturb the door or they clean room 3 times per day

Reading other reviews the overheating in the rooms seems to be a recurring problem from other people who stayed here. On entering the room the thermostat on the wall was indicating 32 degrees with the heating off. (The Hotel is NOT equipped with cooling function). I complained to office staff and they said they will open a window. The staff were very unhelpful. It was obvious they get many complaints from guests. It was a tiny window that they eventually opened and cooled the place down on a cold Shanghai winters night to 27 degrees. I could not sleep at that temperature. I checked out the next day and stayed at the Holiday Inn next to this hotel.
DO NOT STAY HERE.

Room Tip: Don't Stay Here!

Thak you very much for arrival and comments.
Unfortunately, Our hotel AC only can set up above 23C during the winter season.
If guest reqire a fan. We can set up the fan and can open the window.
we suggest turn off the AC.and open the door and window for half hour.then turn on the AC as 23C. It will help to cool down the room.
Our all hotel staff sincerely look forward to you visit again.

I had to travel to Shanghai two times for which I selected to stay in this hotel both times due to good memories and stay from the first visit. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful beyond expectations to ensure all your needs, questions, and concerns are all addressed. The rooms (both times) were really large accommodating lots of space for luggage, big shelves and drawers for clothing, big business desk with amenities you would require, big screen TV, very comfy king size bed, and quite large bathroom. If you stay in this hotel, you do not need to bring any personal stuff related to bathroom as they provide almost everything. The cleanliness of the rooms, hallways, lobby, and restuarants was extremely good. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and reminded me of my stays in the Caribbean All-Inclusive resorts with the food for any taste; either asian and/or chinese foods or western food. Considering the long flight from Canada and the time difference, the room provided the silence and comfort in order to have a good night sleep. The location is also good since it's nearby museums and other interesting places. As the taxi is cheap, it's so easy to get a ride to other places as well. The hotel has provided small business cards for the hotel with both English and Chinese written on it so that you dont need to talk to taxi driver since mostly they cannot speak English. It's very convenient. Overall, either business or pleasure, I would recommend it and personally will definitely stay again in my future trips to Shanghai.

The hotel is located at bit off site from The Bund, but with easy access via metro og taxi.
Facilities are nice, with the typical Chinese Internet, where Google (gmail), Youtube, Facebook, twitter is more or less disabled unless you use a VPN account.

Rooms are equipped with the largest bed I have ever slept in, with plenty of pillows and a huge duvet. The rooms are clean and relatively new.

AC is offered, but not controllable by guest. With means that come 7PM, the temperature is increased to a blistering hot 27,5 C. Through work, I have stayed at this hotel a few times. Same story. Contact to Housekeeping renders no solution. They can offer a fan, but thats it.

If you like warm nights, this is the place for You :-)

Room Tip: Roomnumbers xx05 and xx06 are right next to the elevators . .

Stayed here for a few days during a visit to China recently The hotel is relatively modern with a large marble reception. Rooms are smallish but adequate and have free wifi albeit a bit of a faff to get connected. The breakfast is a copious buffet but service leaves a lot to be desired. On the other hand the service in the bar at the top of the hotel and the Japanese restaurant is brilliant and even though some of the staff didn't speak English there, they made a real effort to communicate. It is not so conveniently located for the tourist areas but to be honest Taxi's are so cheap that it doesn't really matter.

The rooms are quite ok, especially for the discounted price offered. The bathroom however looks a bit cheap w run-of-the-mill tiles. The food is reasonably ok: i.e. Good dinner but the breakfast could be much better. The pool is hidden away deep in the basement. The gym is reasonable. The internet is a nuisance since one has to sign in anew nearly every time one logs on. The elevators do not make use of smart software and stop too often. Etc etc. This hotel therefore hovered between 3 and 4. So, then why 3? I decided that the check-out would be decisive. It was a bit robotic, so thats why. All in all a reasonably good place to save some money but not "a destination".
