“Nice, new hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2012 via mobile

This Marriott is well equipped with the amenities appreciated by a business traveler- helpful and well trained staff, clean and spacious rooms, nice restaurants. Though the hotel seemed to be very busy, it did not seem crowded, nor did the staff seem overwhelmed.

This Marriott has everything a business traveler could want: well-appointed rooms, comfortable bed, great bathroom and good food. The service couldn't have been nicer. Only downside is the location...a bit far from downtown and very far from Pudong Airport. But cabs are relatively cheap and plentiful in Shanghai. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: The club rooms are a good value and include free wireless, a very nice happy hour w/ great food and...

This is one of the best hotels I have ever been!
I would like to evaluate the hotel in terms of the important details. 10 is the best , and one is the poorest grade:
Appearance 10
Service 10
Size of the room 8
Cleaness 10
Equipment in the room 10
Hotel facilities 10
Breakfast 8
Staff kindness 10

The hotel is about 25 min by cab from the main area/street in Shanghai. Spectecular view from my room / 25th floor. About 1 hour by cab from the Pudong airport.
Really a great place to stay!

The only and i mean the only thing i can fault this hotel is the lobby prices and thts me being uba critical. This hotel is realy excellent a bit out of the way but taxi and subway is inexpesive. Staff are a credit to the GM every detail is spot on and im hard to please !
Situated in an up and coming area of shanghai it ticks all the boxes and is great value for money. Facilities are 1st class only the wifi lile most hotels is expensive but free in the lobby just feel a bit over pressured sitting there to buy a drink.
Charlotte in the bar and new lad robert in the resteraunt are really good all that customer service should be
If you on this side of the city changfeng park is a must

I am a regular visitor to this hotel as our office is close walking distance.
The hotel has spacious well equipped rooms (IPOD player is a nice touch). Rooms facing Changfeng Park offer good views.
The staff is very attentive and responsive to your request. The Gym is modern and state of the art equipment. The breakfast spread is very wide and of good quality.
The location is remote from main city but the new malls which have opened nearby now offer dining options
Overall very good experience.

The Marriott Changfeng Park is a relatively new hotel (I think about 2 years). Therefore, the rooms and the interior all still look very well. The room has the usual Marriott comfort features and a great bathroom (Deluxe room). The staff was very friendly and tried hard to get everything right.
Since I stayed there for a conference, it is difficult to give an accurate comment on the pricing, but I wold estimate that the room price should be about 50-60% of the Marriott Hongqiao at Hongqiao road.
The location of the Changfeng Park hotel could be positive or negative depending in the individual and the traveling reason. The hotel is a little bit off, located North of Tianshan Road. The city center - depending on traffic - can be reached in about 25 minutes. Hongqiao airport is 15 - 20 minutes away. The hotel is convenient for business in Hongqiao and the Puxi side, even though, having the need to go over or through Tianshan Road can cause delays due to congested traffic.
What I found positive, I'd that there is a Tesco supermarket right next to the hotel, so there is no need to rely on the mini bar or small dirty convenience shops. In addition, Southern Beauty (good Sichuan food) has a branch close by. From the hotel, you can reach Tianshan Road by foot in about 5 minutes...there are many new shops there now. Also, by walking another 5 minutes you can get to subway stops of Line 2 which can bring you all the way to Pudong (escaping the road traffic).
A problem I experienced was on a rainy evening to get a taxi...well rainy evenings always make it hard to get a taxi in Shanghai but at this location taxi's are in general less than at. Other big hotel locations. During the day this should not cause a problem though.
Overall, I can really recommend the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable with wireless LAN as well as the good old LAN cable. Staff is friendly and trying to help. For getting around in Hongqiao and to the airport, the location is ok. The price should be well below the other Marriott Hotel in Hongqiao.
