“worth going again”
Reviewed 23 January 2012

Went there first time with a couple of friends. The place is a bit difficult to find. But the food was worth the trouble.Went there on a saturday for their buffet.Apparently the price is 138 rmb but there was a promo running at that time and go it for 68 rmb.A very good deal i must say.The veg samoosas were nice, though i would have preferred them to be more spicy. The doll was ordinary.didnt have the indian touch i was looking for.Noodles and beef curry were also on the menu on that day.Beef-was a bit shocking to me,as i didnt knw indians eat beef. But later discovered that some do,depending from which part of india you are.Yeah noodles definitely is not an indian dish and should not have been on the menu. The tandoori was good, though it was a bit scarce.Had to wait before they did the refill. The gulab jamun was yummy and the naan so soft.Definitely the best that i have had in shanghai. If i compare it topunjabi where for 99 rmb u get a larger variety than what is offered at Grand Taj..but for 68 rmb,i get it is ok.Anyway worth going there for their naan which cant be compared to what u are given at punjabi. Will definitely return there, esp if the buffet is still 68 rmb.Heard weekdays they organize lunch buffets too..

“I'm definitely going back...”

I LOVE Indian food. I went here with a friend, and we had the dinner buffet. You can tell it's a good restaurant when over 90% of the customers are from India. The best part - They don't dull down the spices! I will definitely hit this place up the next time I'm craving dosa.
