While I generally prefer the location and vibe of JingAn where the new St Regis is located, People's square is certainly a nice location for dining and also as a base pad to get where you want in SH given the numerous lines within walking distance and Nanjing road. We booked a club room which was well appointed and overlooking the city; though I thought the bathroom could have been better designed. Bath amenities were from Malin and Goetz though, which I particularly enjoyed the scent of.
We arrived fairly late on the first night, so we didn't partake in the nightly happy hour until the second night but they had a good selection of beers and spirits, along with the typical drinks on the second night. Service in the lounge was great as we were proactively seated and offered a beverage each time we entered.
As a bit of a side note; it felt a little odd that the lounge was stocked with Pepsi products while the minibar in the room was stocked with Coke products, perhaps a result of the Marriott merger. Special thanks to Sadettin the hotel manager who was very friendly the two times we met in the club lounge and the lobby.

Clean and comfortable room with great location. Breakfast buffet offered wide selections. Gym was 24 hr. Phone charger for iPhone and Samsung phones are available in the room. Sometimes it was noisy with construction work.

Will come back soon.

Spent 4 nights here in March while traveling in China. Since i was alone and am a woman i decided to choose the hotel with convenient location just to feel myself safe. And i did;-). I was very positively surprised. Everyone spoke good English and was always willing to help with everything i had in mind. The room (i had one on the 43rd floor) had gorgeous views and comfy bed. Yes, the furniture is a bit dated but i hope they’ll take care of it in the future. Besides the tub with the view makes up for the rest. The SPG members lounge is very convenient with everything one could wish for and attentive staff. Nothing is too much for them. I also enjoyed couple of drinks at the bar where there is live music in the evening. The only thing i personally could have complained about is that service at the bar was a bit slow. I was alone and sitting on the side with Bund view and somehow i was forgotten. Waited almost an hour to order another cocktail but then skipped the idea. But ok, it might happen. Location is simply perfect, subway station is next door to the hotel and the Nanjing Road is right in front of the hotel. What else can one say? I went to Disneyland, took a taxi from the hotel, 150 Juan one way (if someone is with family ;-)). Would i stay here again? Not a doubt in my mind!

At the end of Nanjing street you will find this nice and good hotel. A bit strange entrance (first you will see the building concierge, who will direct you upstairs to L level, them you will see the check-in desk of the hotel). Aftetwards you will find yourself in a very nice room with a great view across part of the city). Do not forgetto visit the hotel bar on the 46th floor. Marvelous view toesrds the Bund !

I have stayed at this hotel before but it has since undergone a refresh of the rooms. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with great views. This hotel has the best gym ever in a hotel. Breakfast is very good. Staff are very helpful with excellent English. The hotel is right on Nanjing St at the top end of the walking area so you can walk straight out into this shopping area. It is also very close to the Metro so easy to get around the city from here.
