Description: This restaurant had the best food and service of all the places where we ate in Costa Rica. Family owned and always on site. Cozy, very clean, and surrounded by beautiful vegetation. Friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend the casados, a local dish - delicious! I ate it in other restaurants but it couldn't be compared to Chubascos. I swear I could eat that every day. For dessert, try the home made apple pie (Costa Rican apples) and the arroz con leche. Ah, and do not forget to try their natural fruit drinks. Their coffee is pretty good too.

In the middle of the road to the Poas Vulcan is this typical Costa Rican food restaurant. The food is really good and the place is beautiful. Order a local-made tortilla con queso, their specialty

Enjoyed a lunch with cousins on a Sunday noon time. Our orders were taken quickly. Had a Papaya shake and it was delicious . We had the 7 gallos plate , make sure to share as it is huge. My favorite were the Cheese tortilla (Tortilla Aliñada) and the plantain empanadas filled with black beans. Worth the trip to the place, rustic looking and open air.

This is one of those restaurants on the road to the Poas Volcano. We have been going there for years and whether you get to Poas or not the meal here is worth the trip. The food is excellent and the owners have always emphasized that they only use the best ingredients in their cooking. Who can argue with that when all of the food is fresh, tasty and healthy to eat. Moreover, this is a favorite of locals and Costa Ricans from all over. I like to go during the week as this is a very popular weekend destination and the wait times for a table are long Saturday and Sunday. I love their fish and their casados which are offered with beef, chicken or fish. The portions are quite large so go there with an appetite. Once you are seated the staff do everything they can to get you served promptly. The quality of service and food here makes this one of those must when in Costa Rica. We love this place.
