My husband and I took the Palo Verde River Tour last week in Costa Rica. We were picked up at our resort. Sidar, our driver, and Norman, our guide, we extremely personable and made the entire day tour fun and interesting. They exposed us to the "local" side of the area, first going to the river where men worked all day digging dirt out of the river- something that we would never have seen if we were on our own, Next we went to a park area to see the monkeys, again not what we could have known to go to without the tour. We next took the river tour looking for wild life, after which we we treated to a delightful lunch by locals and a demonstration of pottery making. The tour also included a coffee shop "tour". With Norman giving us an insight to life in Costa Rica, it helped make our stay worthwhile and enjoyable.
