Nice, clean resort and just yards from the beach.

The restaurant has a fence around it. I assume to keep birds out but most places are completely open air and we never noticed a problem.

Security is pretty tight to keep non guests out. This may prove challenging if you just want to visit the restaurant or bar. Since it is rite on the beach it's a perfect location.

I am so happy I stayed there. Though the stairs up and down to the beach are inconvenient, there are pools. I liked the stairs, good excersize. It was the nicest resort I have ever seen. The monkey bars is outstanding.

This is the Guanacoste Region which was in drought season. Room 104 had an awesome view from the lanai of the small, rocky beach, marina and mountains. There are 2 nice pools. Ask for beach towels. The room itself was "tired" and in need of a coat of paint. Kitchen had bare minimum of supplies. Romeero & Phillipe work long hours at the front desk. They speak good English and were full of suggestions for things to do. Flamingo Marina is on the side of a hill and everywhere you go is up or down. We had a nice lunch at the Flamingo Resort just up the hill. The closest grocery of any size (Super Compro) is a good 15 minute car ride. Flamingo Beach is a 10 minute walk and is beautiful. It's a great place to watch sunset. Waves crash onto the beach and the red flag was out all week but it didn't keep people from getting in the water. Restaurant at the far end of the beach is Coco Loco. Reasonable prices and good food but we had a not-so-friendly or attentive waiter so never went back. We used Ecotrans to take the Palo Verde National Park Tour. It included horse back riding, zipline (lame), mud baths & pools, huge scary water slide and sugar cane tour. Very nice lunch. Also used Ecotrans for the Buena Vista tour. It was mostly about the river tour where we saw lots of crocodiles, iguanas & monkeys. Our guide Jay was good and very informative. Used Ecotrans to get back to the airport for $25 each. Best deal we found. Took the Monkey Jungle Canopy tour near Tamarinda. We were the only 2 with the 2 guides who were lots of fun. Beautiful views. Howler monkeys were in trees very close to us. They are loud! Took the Lazy Lizard catamaran sunset tour. Good crew with nice lunch & drinks. Snorkeling wasn't much. Took taxi (Gabrielle Villareal 5707-2509) to Liberia. Definitely not a tourist area so there wasn't much to do. Met nice helpful locals and had great traditional lunch at Palin. Think twice about taking a kayak into the ocean unless you are a strong kayaker. We had difficulty getting back to our beach. Overall impressions: the Costa Ricans are warm friendly people, would suggest spending a few days in the rain forest area which was a 5 hour drive from us, things are slow paced, not everyone speaks English, we didn't have to exchange money - they accepted dollars.

We recently stayed in unit #603. It has been renovated and was a very good accommodation for us. The location is excellent, with an ocean view, close access to a private beach, ocean swimming, and several restaurants within walking distance.

We rented condo 415 for four weeks. The condo is somewhat dated the patio chairs were quite uncomfortable and the beds are hard. Other than that there's not much to complain about here. It's a two bedroom, two bathroom condo with a washing machine and dryer. Certain things are supplied complementary in the condo such as dish soap, laundry soap, toilet paper, paper towels, salt & pepper, garbage bags and cleaning service once per week. The view of the bay is spectacular. We would wake up every morning and go to bed every night listening to the sounds of the waves, it was incredible. You can't see the sunset at this bay but a 10 minute walk away at flamingo beach you will see an absolutely stunning sunset.

It is my understanding if you've dealt with a rental agency such as we did (Tropical Homes) and you didn't book directly through Flamingo Marina Resort it is the rental agency that handles any complaints or requests not the resort. You do however have full use of everything the resort has to offer. I'm reading some reviews that people are complaining about how rude and unhelpful the staff is at the resort and I think this might be part of the problem. Our concierge was Roxana from Tropical Homes and anytime I had a problem I emailed her. In less than an hour any issues I had was taken care of.

We rented a four-wheel-drive vehicle from Economy for the month. We found it quite easy to get around once you understand that there really isn't any real official roadsigns LOL. They tend to give directions by landmarks and homemade roadsigns. We were unable to find a good roadmap anywhere so we went to our concierge Roxana and she was kind enough to let us borrow hers.
There are so many beaches close by and restaurants and beautiful areas to walk. These condos are very centrally and well located if you don't have a vehicle you can still manage here. Roxana provided us with an information package that included a list of grocery stores, banking options, popular restaurants, beaches and things to do in the area.
We did a lot of traveling while we were here in our vehicle and saw some really nice areas but one thing we did find was Playa Flamingo was the nicest place to stay and we would certainly come back here again. Playa Potrero (right next door to Flamingo, 15 minute walk) was a well located area as well.
