We had an awesome time rafting on Rio Savegre. Definitely a highlight of our trip and we would do it again in a second! Not only was the rafting fun but we felt safe with the guides, saw cool views, and learned more about beautiful Costa Rica.

We did not stay at Rafiki but we did their Rafting tour. It was absolutely fantastic. The owners are very friendly and by the end of the trip they we felt like family. We even got hugs before we left. The lodge itself is beautiful. The grounds are very well kept and they have a fantastic waterslide. My daughter couldn't keep off of it. After a very good breakfast we headed to the river for the tour. What a fun experience!! We felt 100% safe the entire time. Definetly safe for kids. We took our 9 and 12 year old. Our guide went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. Half way through we stopped and had lunch. They had a whole spread set up in the jungle. It was delicious. Juan Carlos was our personal paparazzi and took amazing pictures during the whole trip. I definetly recommend purchasing his CD. He does a great job! At the end of the trip we went back to the lodge for a brief moment where we enjoyed drinks with the owners and staff. Definetly a memorable experience. Next time we visit Costa Rica we will not only take the tour again but we will stay at the Lodge.

We stayed at the Rafiki lodge in Nov of 2010 and would highly recommend staying there. This was my 6th time visiting the lodge and it just keeps getting better and better. I have always been impressed with the overall vision of the Boshoff family to create a lodge that has everything to offer but with very low impact to the environment and the lands visual beauty. The Layout of the cabins and rancho is perfect and allows for a great social setting but also plenty of privacy. There are a variety of great activities and we really enjoyed rafting and the horse back riding. The bar and waterslide/pool combo are also great if you just feel like chilling out for the day and the amazing wildlife will keep you entertained. The staff was very friendly and helped us with what ever we needed. Food and coffee was great! What else can we say, what a great place to spend a few days!

I'm feeling super guilty about the fact that my two kids and I stayed at Rafiki in January 2010 and I'm only now writing this review...better late than never though. The family and the staff at Rafiki are really amazing! They not only take pride in delivering and unforgettable experience to their guests but also make them feel like you're part of the family. We had an incredible 5 days at Rafiki and my two kids, son 13 and daughter 16, still tell their friends this was the best vacation experience they've every had. Hiking, horseback riding in the jungle, white water rafting, food, drink, music,etc...it doesn't get any better. I mean being out in the jungle with great people, in fun accomodations, with all kinds of activities which keep the kids active and entertained--no cell phone, no facebook, no internet, all makes for a time to really "connect" as a family. The Boshoff family, who run the lodge make this a family affair to remember. When it came to making our plans to come to Costa Rica, they gave us all kinds of help in thinking about the planning of our vacation (which involved staying 7 days in other places in Costa Rica) and even called a few places on our behalf to help with accomodations for the early part of our trip. They were awesome! There father even picked us up at our hotel prior to coming to Rafiki and hauled us to the Lodge. Just can't say enough good things about Rafiki, the Boshoff's, and the whole experience. My kids summed it up best with the ultimate compliment--"best vacation ever." We all know teenagers always complain about something on a trip--not here though--and they didn't even notice they went without the internet for 5 days! Doesn't get any better!

I have never written a review about anything before but felt compelled to do so after our stay at Rafiki. Hands down, if you're looking for an out of the box, off the beaten path kind of place to have a wonderful, full sensory experience, than look no further. My wife, six year old son and I traveled to Costa Rica and stayed at Rafiki for 4 nights and couldn't have had a better time. Adventuresome excursions, gorgeous natural scenery, great home cooked meals, excellent staff and guides and quality rest and relaxation were plentiful. Afterwards we traveled to Manuel Antonio National Park and although we enjoyed ourselves it quite frankly was a let down after leaving the beauty of the jungle. Thank you Lautjie, Mauren and staff for an unforgettable vacation full of great memories!

We did not stay at the lodge but will be back with our children in a few years! Love what Lucky is trying to do here to save the Tapir. This was one of the most pristine areas here in Costa Rica and some of the views while we were rafting were absolutely breathtaking...it was magical! Thanks for an amazing memory!

Rafiki Lodge is about 20 minutes outside of Quepos in Costa Rica. SUCH a unique place! They have about 10 "tents" which are pure luxury (these kinds of tents have large fantastic luxurious bathrooms). The staff is so friendly and what they are trying to do for the surrounding rain forest, local community and Tapier makes you feel good about spending your relaxation time there. I have never seen anything so cool.
