Playa Cativa, Golfo Dulce, Osa Peninsula
A luxurious house converted into a boutique hotel on the water front and backing onto pristine protected rain forest. The landscaped grounds are stunning with tropical plants attracting a host of tropical birds and animals. Glorious swimming pool with Toucans flying overhead and occasional monkeys in the trees in the distance. You will go to sleep to the sounds of a million tropical frogs and wake to the call of the Howler monkeys. Perfect. With only two other couples staying when we were there, we joined together for dinner each night and we all felt like we were house guests at some tropical mansion. The food is fantastic and when they offer fresh fish and show you what they’ve caught that day right outside the lodge it’s impossible not to love this place. There’s options of jungle walks and kayaking with guides up the Mangrove swamps which I definitely recommend. It feels like a luxurious trip with David Attenborough. I cannot think of any way to improve this place.
We stayed for 3 nights in December 2016
