From the warm and welcoming staff, to the stunning eclectic furniture collection, to the exquisite flora of the beachfront gardens, this vacation property is a gem. We were treated here as family during our three-day visit, that featured Chef Raffa's mouth-watering hors d'ouevres, Costa Rican signature entrees, and inspiring desserts (be sure to try the caramel cheesecake).
Our very knowledgeable guide and naturalist, Jose, took our family on a kayak safari of the mangroves, where he pointed out scarlet macaws, boas, crocodiles, toucans, and a pod of curious bottlenose dolphins. Our extremely attentive hosts, Victor and Ibania ensured that we enjoyed every creature comfort a family could wish for from a hot espresso to a short lesson in Costa Rican history and culture.
We reveled in the spacious and grandiose penthouse suite atop the main lodge, which offered a splendid view of Golfo Dulce, and the colourful and lush rainforest canopy that envelop the beautifully-finished wooden buildings. The melodic sounds of the wildlife all around us immersed us in the Costa Rica that we had been so eager to experience, while the team at Playa Cativo ensured we also enjoyed the relaxation that a great vacation should provide.
Thank you to Frederico, Allen, Jose, Victor, Ibenia, Raffa, and all the other members of the Playa Cativo team for a vacation that the McCrindle family will never forget. Muchas gracias!More
